
The 2013 Mediterranean Games, officially known as the XVII Mediterranean Games, was an international multi-sport event held in the tradition of the Mediterranean Games, as governed by the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (ICMG). The host city of the Games was Mersin, Turkey, as announced after an on-line poll conducted on 23 February 2011 by the ICMG. The games were held from 20 to 30 June 2013. Mersin is the second city in Turkey after İzmir to host the Mediterranean Games. All 24 member National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of the ICMG participated in the Games. The official programme for the Games is featuring events in 27 different sports.

The 2013 Archery World Cup was the eighth edition of the annual Archery World Cup, organised by the World Archery Federation. Four stages were held from May to August 2013, in Shanghai, Antalya, Medellin and Wroclaw, in which archers in the recurve and compound disciplines acquired qualifying points based on their performance. The top mixed team and the top seven individual archers over the course of the four stages joined the leading non-qualified host nation archer for the finals at the Fontaines du Trocadéro in Paris on 21–22 September.

The 2013 Balkan Athletics Indoor Championships was the 18th edition of the annual indoor track and field competition for athletes from the Balkans, organised by Balkan Athletics. It was held on 23 February at the Ataköy Athletics Arena in Istanbul, Turkey.

The 2013 Istanbul Park Superbike World Championship round is the eleventh round of the 2013 Superbike World Championship season. It took place on the weekend of September 13–15, 2013 at the Istanbul Park located in Istanbul, Turkey.

Turkey participated as the host nation in the 2013 Mediterranean Games held in Mersin, Turkey from 20 to 30 June 2013.

Turkey competed at the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia from 6 July to 17 July 2013. A total of 82 athletes were a part of the Turkish team competing in ten sports branches.

Turkey is competing at the 2013 World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona, Spain between 19 July and 4 August 2013.

Turkey competed at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics from August 10 to August 18 in Moscow, Russia. A team of 10 athletes was announced to represent the country in the event.

Turkey competed at the 2013 World Games held in Cali, Colombia.

The 2013 World Archery Championships was the 47th edition of the World Archery Championships. The event was held in Belek in the Antalya Province of Turkey from September 29 to October 6, 2013, and was organised by World Archery (FITA). It will be immediately preceded by the 50th World Archery congress in the same location. Qualification and elimination rounds took place at the Papillon Sports Centre in nearby Kadriye, with the medal matches on 5–6 October on the beach of Belek.
