On Friday, May 15, 1981, Len Barker of the Cleveland Indians threw a perfect game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Cleveland Stadium, the tenth perfect game in Major League Baseball history. The Indians defeated the Blue Jays 3–0, as Barker did not allow a baserunner. Barker never once reached ball three against any Blue Jay hitter. He struck out 11 Blue Jays hitters including seven of the last 11 batters.

The Constellation Energy League was an Independent Baseball league that operated in Texas in 2020 because of COVID restrictions limiting travel and as a way to offer opportunities for minor league players. The league consisted of four teams: Sugar Land Skeeters, Team Texas, Sugar Land Lightning Sloths, and Eastern Reyes del Tigre. The teams were made up of former Major League Baseball players as well as other minor league and independent professional players.
