The Clarington 200 is a NASCAR Pinty's Series stock car race held twice annually at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. In previous seasons one race would take place on the facilities 3.957 km (2.459 mi) road course and one race taking place on the facilities now closed 0.805 km (0.500 mi) oval speedway. It has been part of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series in every season since 2007. Previous editions of the race have belonged to the USAC Stock Car division, the ASA National Tour and the CASCAR Super Series.

This was seen as a sudden change in direction as the government has been reluctant to allow MMA events to be held. This paved the way for the largest regulated professional MMA event, UFC 129, which was held on April 30, 2011 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

The Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix is an annual IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race held every July or August at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. It was part of the every American Le Mans Series season from 1999 to 2013. Since 1998, the race is a three-hour race, although under IMSA rules, a "three hour" race is 2 hours 45 minutes, in order to squeeze the race into a television-friendly package. Previous editions of the Grand Prix also belonged to the World Sportscar Championship and the IMSA GT Championship.
