
Ultras are a type of association football fans who are renowned for their fanatical support. The term originated in Italy but it is used worldwide to describe predominantly organised fans of association football teams. The behavioural tendency of ultras groups includes their use of flares, vocal support in large groups and the displaying of banners at football stadiums, all of which are designed to create an atmosphere which encourages their own team and intimidates the opposing players and their supporters. The frequent use of elaborate displays in stadiums is also common.
The American Outlaws are an unofficial supporters' group for the United States men's national soccer team and United States women's national soccer team and have been described as "a raucous group of U.S. supporters" by ESPN. Founded in 2007 by a group of fans from Lincoln, Nebraska, the group set out to "unite and strengthen" supporters at United States national soccer team games.

The Boixos Nois is an ultras supporter group organised around the La Liga football club FC Barcelona, based in Catalonia. Founded in 1981, it was composed of left-leaning individuals. For many years, the Boixos Nois enjoyed a close relationship with FC Barcelona until former president Joan Laporta banned their presence at games in 2003.

The Dallas Beer Guardians are an independent supporters group of Major League Soccer's FC Dallas and a member of the Independent Supporters Council. The group is named for the Beer Garden section in which they reside at Toyota Stadium.

Eurostand was a campaign among European football supporters in 1998. The background was a UEFA ban on standing in the terraces. The campaign was started by Brøndby IF supporters.

Fratria is the largest organisation of FC Spartak Moscow supporters. It is responsible for organized voice and banner support during Spartak's matches both home and away.

Garra Blanca is the title given to a barra brava that was created in Chile by the supporters of Santiago based football club Colo-Colo. It is one of the three largest and most important barras bravas in the country, the other beings Universidad de Chile's Los de Abajo and Universidad Catolica "Los Cruzados".

Gate 4, is the most popular organized supporters group of the Greek multi-sports club PAOK. The group has members from all over Greece and over the years has played an important role in the club's course influencing the club's decisions. They mostly wear black and white symbols and clothes, which are the colors of the club.

Gate 13, is the name of the association, which consists of many supporters groups of the Greek multi-sports club Panathinaikos A.O. Officially founded on November 19, 1966, Gate 13 is the oldest supporters' union in Greece. Gate 13 has members from all over Greece and has over the years become a part of the club by affecting club decisions and by following the club on all possible occasions.

The Green and White Army are fans that follow the Northern Ireland national football team, noted for their passionate support.

Het Legioen is the name of the supporters and fans of Dutch football club Feyenoord Rotterdam.

Blue Pilgrims is an organised group of football fans who support the India national football men's team, women's team, and all the other age–group national teams at almost every home and away game. Founded in 2017 before the commencement of the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup, which was held in India, the group based their name on the nickname of the national team, the "Blue Tigers". They consider travelling with the national teams to wherever the teams play as their pilgrimage. They often display flags, banners, and tifos in support of the national team.

Hartford Athletic is an American professional soccer team based in Hartford, Connecticut. The club was founded in 2018 and started play in the USL Championship in 2019. They are the only pro soccer team in Connecticut.

Manjappada are an organised supporters' group of the Kochi-based football club Kerala Blasters FC, which competes in the Indian Super League, the top tier of Indian football. One of the largest and most active fan groups in the Indian Super League, Manjappada received the Indian Sports Honours Fan Club of the Year award two times, in 2017 and 2020.

Maroon Friends 1946 is an FK Sarajevo fan association and advocacy group organized by influential individuals from the financial, political and cultural sectors of Bosnian society with the aim of lobbying both locally and internationally for the club and influencing club policies. The association has strong informal ties to FK Sarajevo Ultras, Horde Zla.

Original 21 is the name of the association which consists of many supporters groups of the Greek multi-sports club AEK Athletic Club. Original 21 has members from all over Greece and has over the years become a part of the club by affecting club decisions and by following the club on all possible occasions.

Roligan is a nickname for a supporter of the Danish national football team. Roligans are noted for being the opposite of ultras, i.e. calm, quiet, well-mannered supporters of their team who shun unsportsmanlike behavior or violence. This behavior is the exact opposite of that exhibited by hooligans. The term roligan is a portmanteau of rolig and hooligan.

Sam's Army was an unofficial supporters' group for the United States men's national soccer team. The name of the group derives from Uncle Sam, a national personification of the United States, and the Scottish supporters' group the Tartan Army. Sam's Army debuted at a 1995 U.S. Cup game following the 1994 FIFA World Cup. In 2010 there were more than 14,000 members of Sam's Army, and the organization reported having members around the world. Sam's Army was known for wearing all red and usually standing behind a goal during United States national team matches. George Vecsey of The New York Times described Sam's Army as, "a relative handful of goofy characters in red outfits... who follow the American team around the globe." The American Outlaws are now the dominant U.S. soccer supporters' group and Sam's Army is now defunct.

Supporters' groups or supporters' clubs are independent fan clubs or campaign groups in sport, mostly association football.

The Tartan Army is a name given to fans of the Scotland national football team. They have won awards from several organisations for their friendly behaviour and charitable work. They have also been criticised at times for aspects of their behaviour, however, such as jeering at "God Save the Queen".
Tifozat Kuq e Zi is a non-profit football supporters' association for the Albania national football team and various national team sportive activities. It was founded on December 25, 2003. In cooperation with FSHF, it organises trips for football fans to visit games, and develops and sells merchandise to support itself and fund sporting related projects.

The Timbers Army is an independent supporters group of Portland Timbers, a soccer club in Major League Soccer—the top tier of the United States soccer pyramid. Its members are known for their loud, enthusiastic support and the raucous atmosphere they create at Timbers games, along with their leftist political positions. Centered in section 107 of Providence Park in Portland, Oregon, the Army has grown steadily over the years to encompass much of the north end of the stadium.
The Torcida Jovem are a torcida organizada, or supporters' group, for Santos FC, a Brazilian professional football club based in Santos, Brazil. Founded in 1969 by a group of fans from São Paulo, the group set out to make it a goal to attend every match that the club played in the capital of São Paulo. With over 70,000 members, it is one of the largest supporting groups in Brazil. The current president is André Vinícius "Deko". Grêmio Recreativo Cultural Social Escola de Samba Torcida Jovem, popularly known simply as Torcida Jovem, is a samba school from São Paulo, Brazil.

The Trinchera Celeste is an independent supporters group of O'Higgins, a football club in the Primera División de Chile. It's known as the barra brava of the club.

The Voyageurs is an unofficial Canadian soccer supporters group founded in 1996, notable for their support of Canada's national teams, awarding of the annual Voyageurs Cup for men's soccer at the MLS and former USL-1 levels and influence in the Canadian soccer media.
