
The 6 Hours of Mexico was a sports car race held at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, Mexico. The race was first held in 1974 as part of the IMSA GT Championship. Fifteen years later, in 1989, the World Sportscar Championship reintroduced it as a 480 km event, and was held three times before the championship's demise. It was again revived in 2016 as a part of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The IFBB Arnold Sports Festival, also known as the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival, is an annual multi-sport event consisting of professional bodybuilding, strongman, fitness, figure and bikini weekend expo. It was established in 1989 and is named after Arnold Schwarzenegger. The main event is held annually around late February or early March in Columbus, Ohio, United States, by the International Federation of BodyBuilding & Fitness (IFBB). It is considered the second-most-prestigious event in professional men's bodybuilding, physique, figure and bikini after Joe Weider's Olympia; it was formerly the second-most-prestigious event in professional female bodybuilding.

The Chrono Champenois is a European individual time trial bicycle race held around Bétheny in France, in the Champagne region. The race has been organised as a 1.2 event since 1989 for women's and since 1998 there is also a men's race which is part of the UCI Europe Tour. The women's race is fully called: Chrono Champenois - Trophée Européen. The 2017 event was cancelled late in the season, with the organiser planning to hold the race again in 2018.

The Copa do Brasil is a knockout football competition played by 91 teams, representing all 26 Brazilian states plus the Federal District. It is the Brazilian domestic cup and the Brazilian equivalent of the FA Cup, Taça de Portugal, Copa del Rey, Scottish Cup and Copa Argentina, among others. The Darwin Hottest Sevens, known as the Hottest 7s in the World or the Hottest 7s, is a rugby sevens tournament held annually in Darwin, Australia on a weekend in late January. The event is sponsored by Heineken and is hosted by the Northern Territory Rugby Union. The tournament draws club teams and national teams from many countries around the world, including New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, England, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and Australia.

The Omega Dubai Desert Classic is a European Tour golf tournament held on Majlis course at Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Hopman Cup is an international eight-team indoor hardcourt tennis tournament which plays mixed-gender teams on a country-by-country basis. It was held in Perth, Western Australia, in early January each year from 1989 to 2019. It was replaced on the calendar in 2020 by the ATP Cup, a newly created ATP event, but the International Tennis Federation has stated it will return in 2022 with the bidding process for a new venue on hold as of November 2020.

The historic name of the hill in Welsh is Y Bigwrn, with its summit known as Pen y Bigwrn. Currently, however, it is generally known in Welsh as Mynydd Cilfái, a translation of the English name.

The Naples Half Marathon is an annual half marathon road running race held in Naples, Florida, United States since 1989. The 25th running of the race was held on January 20, 2013, with 2036 runners taking part, including two-time Olympian Anthony Famiglietti, who finished seventh. The 2014 race saw a repeat victory by Kiprono Kurgat ahead of a crowd of 2412 total runners.

Swim Miami is an open-water swimming event held annually in south Florida. The most recent event took place on May 7, 2017. Today the event is owned and operated by the H2O’s Foundation, a foundation dedicated to eradicating drowning in south Florida. The swim also helps to develop open-water swimming as an Olympic-style sport in Florida.

The Tom Bowl is a fan-supported college football bowl game scheduled to be played annually at Frank A. Schafer Field in Beal City, Michigan. The game is not sanctioned by the NCAA. It annually invites the #1 and #2 teams in the nation to play in a college football championship game. Although the group formally invites college teams every year to play in the bowl, no school has ever accepted an invitation. However, some athletic directors and conference presidents/commissioners have sent response letters, declining while sarcastically telling the group that it was an honor to be invited. Responses have been received from Jim Delany, Jack Swarbrick, and Pat Richter, among others.

The Tour DuPont was a cycling stage race in the United States held between 1989 and 1996, initially called the Tour de Trump. It was intended to become a North American cycling event similar in format and prestige to the Tour de France. The tour's names came from its sponsors, first the businessman Donald Trump and then later DuPont.
