
The 2022 Asian Games, also known as XIX Asiad, will be a multi-sport event celebrated in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China from 10 to 25 September 2022. Hangzhou will be the third Chinese city to host the Asian Games, after Beijing in 1990 and Guangzhou in 2010.

The 2026 Asian Games, also known as XX Asiad and Aichi-Nagoya 2026, will be a multi-sport event celebrated in the Aichi Prefecture and its capital Nagoya in Japan from 19 September to 4 October 2026. Nagoya will be the third Japanese city to host the Games, after Tokyo in 1958 and Hiroshima in 1994.

The 2021 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, officially known as the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games and also known as Bangkok–Chonburi 2021, is scheduled to be a pan-Asian multi-sport event in indoor and martial arts sports held from 10 to 20 March 2022 in the Thai capital city, Bangkok and the province of Chonburi. Originally due to take place from 21 to 30 May 2021, the event was postponed in January 2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) officially awarded the games to Bangkok and Chonburi Province and signed the hosting rights contact in April 2020.

The 2022 Asian Para Games, also known as the 4th Asian Para Games, is a multi-sport event that parallels the 2022 Asian Games which will held for Asian athletes with disability in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China from 9 to 15 October 2022. Hangzhou will be the second Chinese city to host the Asian Para Games, after Guangzhou in 2010.

The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Birmingham 2022, is an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth that is scheduled to be held in Birmingham, England. This is due to be the third time England has hosted the Games, after London in 1934 and Manchester in 2002.

The 3rd European Games is an international sporting event to be held in Kraków, Poland in 2023.

The 2023 Pan American Games, officially the XIX Pan American Games, will be the 19th edition of the Pan American Games and an international multi-sport event scheduled to be held from October 20 to November 5, 2023 in Santiago, Chile.

The 2021 Southeast Asian Games, commonly known as the 31st SEA Games, is scheduled to take place in Hanoi, Vietnam from 21 November to 2 December 2021 and will feature 40 sports, mainly those played at the Olympic Games. This is the second time Vietnam will hold the SEA Games since 2003.

The 2023 Southeast Asian Games, commonly known as the 32nd SEA Games, will be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Originally due to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the event was postponed in March 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being rescheduled for 2021, the event retains the Tokyo 2020 name for marketing and branding purposes. This is the first time that the Olympic Games have been postponed and rescheduled, rather than cancelled.

The 2020 Summer Paralympics are an upcoming major international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities governed by the International Paralympic Committee. Scheduled as the 16th Summer Paralympic Games, they are scheduled to be held in Tokyo, Japan between 24 August and 5 September 2021. Originally due to take place between 25 August and 6 September 2020. On 24 March 2020, the IOC and the Tokyo Organizing Committee officially announced that the 2020 Summer Olympics and 2020 Summer Paralympics would be postponed to 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, marking the first time that the Paralympics has been postponed. They will still be publicly marketed as the 2020 Summer Paralympics, even with the change in scheduling to one year later. The new dates were later confirmed as 24 August to 5 September 2021.

The 2024 Summer Paralympics also known as the 17th Summer Paralympic Games, and commonly known as Paris 2024, are an upcoming major international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities governed by the International Paralympic Committee, to be held in Paris, France, originally planned from 4 to 15 September 2024 but now likely to be 28 August to 8 September. These games mark the first time Paris will host the Paralympics in its history. The final decision was made by the IOC on 13 September 2017, at their annual conference in Lima, Peru.

The 2028 Summer Paralympics also known as the 18th Summer Paralympic Games, and commonly known as Los Angeles, United States 2028, are an upcoming major international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities governed by the International Paralympic Committee, to be held in Los Angeles, United States originally planned from September 4 to 17, 2028, but now likely to be August 22 to September 3. These games mark the first time Los Angeles will host the Paralympics in its history. The final decision was made by the IOC on September 13, 2017, at their annual conference in Lima, Peru.

The 2021 Summer World University Games, the XXXI Summer World University Games will be held in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, originally scheduled from 8 to 19 August 2021. Delayed twice due to scheduling change and was rescheduled to 18 to 29 August 2021, ten days after the rescheduled 2020 Summer Olympics.

The 2023 FISU Summer World University Games, the 32nd edition of the event, will be held in Ekaterinburg, Russia.

The 2026 Summer Youth Olympics, officially known as the IV Summer Youth Olympic Games, and commonly known as Dakar 2026 will be the fourth edition of the Summer Youth Olympics, an international sports, education and cultural festival for teenagers, in a city designated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was originally planned to be held in Dakar, Senegal for 18 days from 22 October to 9 November 2022, becoming the first IOC event to be held in Africa and the first in a Muslim-Majority Country. However, on 17 July 2020 the IOC and Senegal agreed to postpone the games to 2026 due to the operational and economical consequences of the postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2022 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XXIV Olympic Winter Games and commonly known as Beijing 2022, is an international winter multi-sport event that is scheduled to take place from 4 to 20 February 2022, in Beijing and towns in the neighboring Hebei province, China.

The 2026 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XXV Olympic Winter Games, and commonly known as Milano Cortina 2026 or Milan Cortina 2026, is a forthcoming international multi-sport event that is scheduled to take place from 6 to 22 February 2026 in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. Milan–Cortina d'Ampezzo beat another joint bid from Swedish cities Stockholm–Åre by 47–34 votes to be elected host cities at the 134th Session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 24 June 2019.

The 2030 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XXVI Olympic Winter Games, is an upcoming international multi-sport event. It will be organised in a city designated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The winning bid for the host city will be announced at the 140th IOC Session in Mumbai, India, in 2023.

The 2022 Winter Paralympics, officially known as the XIII Paralympic Winter Games, is an international winter multi-sport event for disabled athletes that is scheduled to take place in Beijing, People's Republic of China, from 4 to 13 March 2022.

The 2021 Winter Universiade, the XXX Winter Universiade or XXX Winter World University Games, is scheduled to take place from 11 to 21 December 2021 in Central Switzerland as a joint project of the City of Lucerne and the six cantons of Central Switzerland: Lucerne, Nidwalden, Obwalden, Schwyz, Uri, and Zug. The programme includes ten sports, which will take place at seven venues. Students between the ages of 17 and 25 from over 540 universities and more than 50 countries will participate.

The 2023 Winter World University Games, the XXXI Winter World University Games, is scheduled for 2023 in Lake Placid, New York, United States.

The 2024 Winter Youth Olympics, officially known as the IV Winter Youth Olympic Games and commonly known as Gangwon 2024, will be the fourth edition of the Winter Youth Olympics, an international sports, education and cultural festival for teenagers, to be held between 19 January and 2 February 2024 in Gangwon, South Korea. The host city was announced at the 135th IOC Session on 10 January 2020 at the SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne, Switzerland during the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics. This is the first Olympic event with the new bidding process. This will also be the first Winter Youth Olympic Games to be held outside of Europe.

The World Games 2022 will be the eleventh World Games, a major international multi-sport event, meant for sports, or disciplines or events within a sport, that were not contested in the Olympic Games. While originally scheduled for July 2021, due to the rescheduling of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, The World Games 2022 will be held July 7 to 17, 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama, United States. It was chosen by the International World Games Association on January 22, 2015. It will feature 30 official sports in 54 disciplines which will be contested at 30 venues across the Birmingham area.
