
4-H Shooting Sports Programs are part of 4-H in the United States, a youth organization administered by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), with the mission of "engaging youth to reach their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development." The name represents four personal development areas of focus for the organization: head, heart, hands, and health.

Egyptian Shooting Club is an Egyptian club based in Giza, Egypt with several branches in Dokki, 6th of October City, Katamya, Port Said and Alexandria. The original idea of the club was to provide an area for all Egyptian shooters to express their hobby. Nowadays, It is not only the Egyptian shooters but for every one who wants to play any sport or to develop any hobby, the shooting club will help by providing class pitches and platforms for several sports and hobbies. It was founded in 1938 by a royal decree from King Farouk I of Egypt and then was called The Royal Egyptian Shooting Club.

The European Shooting Confederation (ESC) is an association of the International Shooting Sport Federation's member federations from Europe, including the Caucasus, Cyprus, Israel and Turkey.

Fédération Internationale de Tir aux Armes Sportives de Chasse is an international sport federation for sport shooting, specifically clay pigeon shooting similar to sporting clays, trap and skeet.

Finnish Reservist Sports Federation (RESUL) is the national sports federation for voluntary national defense organizations. It is a registered, non-profit organization operating in Finland, its headquarters located in Helsinki.

Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, also known as Front Sight and as Front Sight Resorts, was founded in 1996 by Dr Ignatius Piazza. It is a privately owned and operated organization whose purpose is twofold: 1) to provide training, mostly on how to safely operate firearms in self-defense settings, also referred to as providing "comfort of skill at arms", and 2) an activism goal to "positively change the image of gun ownership in our lifetimes" by repudiating unfavorable views of gun owners put forth by various private gun control, and political, organizations. It claims to have grown to be the largest gun training organization in the US, and larger than all the others combined.

A Girl & A Gun Women's Shooting League is a women-only gun club introducing women and girls to pistol, rifle, and shotgun shooting. The league is designed to "help ladies feel more comfortable when talking to instructors and handling a firearm."

Gunsite is a privately run firearms training facility based in Yavapai County, Arizona, just south-west of Paulden in the United States. It offers tuition-based instruction in handgun, carbine, rifle and shotgun shooting, as well as other specialty firearms. Located on a 3,000-acre (12 km2) facility, Gunsite has classrooms, indoor and outdoor firing simulators, and various pistol and long-barrel ranges. The ranges go out to 2000 yards for precision rifle training. There is also an on-site pro shop and gunsmith.

International Benchrest Shooters (IBS) is as a governing body for benchrest shooting that is mainly active in the USA.

The International Confederation of Fullbore Rifle Associations (ICFRA) is the international association for the fullbore rifle shooting sports of Target Rifle ('TR') and F-Class, which are long range competitions shot at distances between 300 and 900 meters or 300 to 1,000 yards depending on the range. F-Class shooters often shoot concurrently with the world's long-range TR shooters and use the same targets, except that the F-Class target has an extra ring half the diameter of the smallest in use for TR. ICFRA manages the programme of World Championships and other major matches for Fullbore Rifle and seeks to standardize the competition rules for TR and F-Class around the world. In competitions, wind reading skills are important. In order to hit their targets competitors must sense wind direction and speed and adjust their sights accordingly by applying knowledge and experience about wind's effect on the Trajectory of the bullet. World Long-Range Rifle Team and Individual Championships for both TR and F-Class are hosted every four years alternately two years apart. The winner of the World Long Range TR Team Championship is awarded the Palma trophy.

The International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts (ICORE) is an international community which promotes action shooting competitions with revolvers. ICORE was founded in 1991 by Mike and Sharon Higashi with a vision of revolver-only competitions where "even the most basic equipment could be used and still provide enjoyment and satisfaction."

The International Metallic Silhouette Shooting Union (IMSSU) is the international organization for metallic silhouette shooting, which was founded in 1992 in response to the fact that rules for metallic silhouette shooting started to diverge around the world.

The International Military Sports Council (IMSC) or Conseil International du Sport Militaire (CISM), is an international sports association, established in 1948 and headquartered in Brussels. It is the world's second-largest multi-discipline sports organisation, after the International Olympic Committee, holding more than 20 competitions annually. Under its auspices, soldiers who may previously have met on the battlefield compete on the sports playing field. CISM organises various sporting events, including the Military World Games and World Military Championships, for the armed forces of 140 member countries. The aim of CISM is to promote sport activity and physical education between armed forces as a means to foster world peace. The motto of CISM is "Friendship through Sport" and is based on three pillars of sport, education and solidarity.

The International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) is the world's largest shooting sport association and the largest and oldest within practical shooting. Founded in 1976, the IPSC nowadays affiliates over 100 regions from Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania. Competitions are held with pistol, revolver, rifle, and shotgun, and the competitors are divided into different divisions based on firearm and equipment features. While everyone in a division competes in the Overall category, there are also own separate awards for the categories Lady, Super Junior, Junior, Senior and Super Senior.

The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) is the governing body of the Olympic Shooting events in rifle, pistol and shotgun disciplines, and of several non-Olympic Shooting sport events. ISSF's activities include regulation of the sport, Olympic qualifications and organization of international competitions such as the ISSF World Cup Series, the ISSF World Cup Finals, the ISSF Separate World Championship in Shotgun events and the ISSF World Championship in all events.

The International T-Class Confederation (ITCC), founded in 2014, promotes the shooting sport of T-Class which is mainly focused on competitions with precision rifle systems for various short, medium and long range distances, which may either be known or unknown. Headquarters reside in Bulgaria, and for the purpose of promotion of the sport internationally the organization offers a ruleset which regulates the design and management of competitions.

KT Shooting Team was formed in 1985. The South Korean National Shooting Team is the KT Shooting Team; all of its 11 shooters are part of the National Team. KT Company is sponsoring the KT Shooting Team. It’s the best shooting team in South Korea, and the team won a gold medal in the Beijing Olympics. The Kyffhäuserbund is an umbrella organization for war veterans' and reservists' associations in Germany based in Rüdesheim am Rhein. It owes its name to the Kyffhäuser Monument, a memorial built on the summit of the 473 m high Kyffhäuser mountain near Bad Frankenhausen in the state of Thuringia in central Germany.

Founded in 1933, the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association (NMLRA) is the largest association of muzzleloaders in the United States. It is known for its promotion of the sport of muzzleloading which involves the firing of muzzleloader or black-powder firearms.

The National Rifle Association of America (NRA) is a gun rights advocacy group based in the United States. Founded to advance rifle marksmanship, the modern NRA continues to teach firearm safety and competency. The organization also publishes several magazines and sponsors competitive marksmanship events. According to the NRA, it had nearly 5 million members as of December 2018, though that figure has not been independently confirmed. On January 15, 2021, the NRA filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Texas as it announced plans to reincorporate after years of financial mismanagement allegations.

The National Rifle Association of the United Kingdom is registered charity with a Royal Charter, whose charitable objectives are to promote and encourage marksmanship throughout the Queen’s dominions in the interest of defence and the permanence of the volunteer and auxiliary forces, naval, military and air. The formal purposes of the charity are to promote the efficiency of the armed forces of the Crown, or the police, fire and rescue or ambulance services. The National Shooting Centre at Bisley is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Association.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) is an American national trade association for the firearms industry that is based in Newtown, Connecticut. Formed in 1961, the organization has more than 8,000 members: firearms manufacturers, distributors, retailers, shooting ranges, sportsmen's clubs and media.

Norges Skytterforbund (NSF), literally the Norwegian Shooting Association, is a Norwegian umbrella organization for shooting sports, and is internationally affiliated with the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF), Fédération Internationale de Tir aux Armes Sportives de Chasse (FITASC) and Precision Pistol Competition (WA1500). NSF was founded in 1946, and is also organized under the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports.
The North-South Skirmish Association (N-SSA) is a historical and competitive organization whose goal is to maintain the knowledge of the unique firearms used during the American Civil War. Formed in 1950 to commemorate the men who fought on both sides during the war, the association is based mainly in the eastern United States, there are related associations in the western United States

Det frivillige Skyttervesen (DFS), also known as The Norwegian Civilian Marksmanship Association, is a civilian marksmanship association in Norway and the largest shooting sport organization in Norway. It was created in 1893 by Norway's Storting to promote practical shooting skills within the Norwegian people, thereby empowering the national defence. DFS is sponsored by the Norwegian parliament and receives annually about 30 million Norwegian krones to fulfil their purpose. DFS collaborates with various departments in the Norwegian Armed Forces by educating shooting instructors. They also lend their shooting ranges for free to the Norwegian Home Guard. DFS is under the patronage of Harald V of Norway.

The United States Army Marksmanship Unit is a part of U.S. Army providing small arms marksmanship training for soldiers and enhancing army recruiting. The unit was originally established in 1956 at the direction of president Dwight D. Eisenhower to the mission of winning international competitions, which at the time was dominated by the Soviet Union. At the 1964 Summer Olympics, the United States won seven medals in shooting, of which six were won by Army Marksmanship Unit members; unit members have continued to win medals at subsequent competitions. A 2008 New York Times article notes that the unit has "a reputation as the country's premier training school for competitive shooters." The unit has also trained army snipers and assisted in the development of weaponry.

The World Benchrest Shooting Federation (WBSF) is the international governing body for benchrest shooting, with disciplines for both centerfire and rimfire ammunition. WBSF was formed in 2001.

The World Fast Draw Association (WFDA) is the largest international sanctioning body in the shooting sport of fast draw, with active members in the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, the United Kingdom and Germany. In addition to keeping records and presenting awards, the Association publishes a monthly magazine detailing the sport. The organization is associated with the National Rifle Association.
