
Moeen Munir Ali is an English international cricketer. An all-rounder, he is a left-handed batsman and right-arm off-spinner, who played county cricket for Warwickshire before moving to Worcestershire after the 2006 season. Ali has represented England in all formats of the game. He won Warwickshire's NBC Denis Compton Award in both 2004 and 2005 and Worcestershire's NBC Denis Compton Award in 2009. His off spin is marked by a strongly spun off break and a well-concealed arm ball. He was named as one of five Cricketers of the Year in the 2015 Wisden Cricketers' Almanack. Moeen was part of the England squad that won the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

James Michael Anderson,, is an English international cricketer who plays for Lancashire County Cricket Club and the England cricket team. Among fast bowlers, Anderson is the leading wicket-taker of all-time at Test cricket level, and also holds the record for the most wickets taken by an England player in One-Day International (ODI) cricket. He is the only fast bowler to have 600 or more Test wickets to his name, and is the fourth highest wicket-taker overall.

Jonathan Marc Bairstow is an English cricketer, who plays internationally for England and domestically for Yorkshire. Bairstow was part of the England squad that won the 2019 Cricket World Cup. A right-hand batsman, he is the only England wicket-keeper to twice claim nine dismissals in a Test match, against South Africa in January 2016, and against Sri Lanka in May 2016. Only Jack Russell, and Bob Taylor have claimed more in a single Test match.

Ian Ronald Bell is a former English cricketer who played international cricket in all formats for the England cricket team and county cricket for Warwickshire County Cricket Club. For cricketing purposes he is regarded as English. He is categorised by CricketArchive and Cricinfo as a right-arm fast medium bowler and a right-handed batsman. However, according to a 2011 article in The Observer in 2009 he was timed by the speed guns at the ECB's indoor school in Loughborough at 94 miles per hour (151 km/h), the highest figure for any bowler measured there. Surrey's coach Ian Salisbury said of him: "He's always been able to bowl quick and he is a 90mph bowler, but he can also swing the ball, conventionally or reverse later on."

Christopher Paul Murtagh is an English cricketer who played for Surrey County Cricket Club before being released in 2009. He is a right-handed batsman. Murtugh attended the selective The John Fisher School and made his first-class cricket debut for Loughborough UCCE in 2005, turning out for Surrey in some one-day games later in the season. A prolific season in 2007 earned him his first full contract for the 2008 season. He is the younger brother of Tim Murtagh.

A left-arm spinner, Panesar made his Test cricket debut in 2006 against India in Nagpur and One Day International debut for England in 2007. In English county cricket, he last played for Northamptonshire in 2016, and has previously played for Northamptonshire until 2009, Sussex from 2010 to 2013 and Essex from 2013 to 2015. He has also played for the Lions in South Africa.

Matthew James Prior is a South African-born English former cricketer, who played for England in Test cricket and for Sussex County Cricket Club in domestic cricket. He was a wicket-keeper and his aggressive right-handed batting enabled him to open the innings in ODI matches, even when he made very limited appearance in shorter forms of the game. With an international Test debut score of 126, Prior became the first English wicket-keeper to hit a century in his debut match in early 2007. His glovework, however, was criticised. Despite a successful tour of Sri Lanka with the bat, Prior's keeping was less successful, and he was dropped from the team for the 2008 tour of New Zealand. He returned for the 2008 series against South Africa, and was retained into 2009, where he became the second-fastest England keeper to reach 1,000 Test runs, behind Les Ames. He retired in June 2015 from all forms of professional cricket due to a recurring Achilles tendon injury.

Sir Andrew John Strauss is an English cricket administrator and former player, formerly the Director of Cricket for the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). He played county cricket for Middlesex, and captained the England national team in all formats of the game. A fluent left-handed opening batsman, Strauss favoured scoring off the back foot, mostly playing cut and pull shots. Strauss was also known for his fielding strength at slip or in the covers.

Graeme Peter Swann is a former English cricketer who played all three formats of the game. Born in Northampton, he attended Sponne School in Towcester, Northamptonshire. He was primarily a right-arm off-spinner, and also a capable late-order batsman with four first-class centuries, and often fielded at second slip. After initially playing for his home county Northamptonshire, for whom he made his debut in 1997, he moved to Nottinghamshire in 2005.

Christopher Timothy Tremlett is a former English cricketer who played international cricket for England and domestically for Hampshire and Surrey. He was a 6 feet 7 inches (2.01 m) tall fast-medium bowler able to extract bounce on most surfaces. Tremlett started his playing career with Hampshire in 2000 and was awarded his county cap in 2004. He made his One Day International debut in 2005, and two years later played his first Test. Tremlett played three Tests in 2007 before injury interrupted.

Marcus Edward Trescothick is an English former cricketer who played first-class cricket for Somerset County Cricket Club, and represented England in 76 Test matches and 123 One Day Internationals. He was Somerset captain from 2010-16 and temporary England captain for several Tests and ODIs.

He served as England captain for the test team from 2003 to 2008, the one-day international team from 2003–2007, and was the first Twenty20 England captain from 2005–2007.
