
The IX Mediterranean Games – Casablanca 1983, commonly known as the 1983 Mediterranean Games, were the 9th Mediterranean Games. The Games were held in Casablanca, Morocco, from 3 to 17 September 1983, where 2,192 athletes from 16 countries participated. There were a total of 162 medal events from 20 different sports.

The 1st African Youth Games took place in Rabat, Morocco's capital city from 13 to 18 July 2010. The games are targeting young African athletes, both girls and boys of 15–17 years, and about 16 sports codes will be featured at the continental event. athletics, basketball, boxing, fencing, football, gymnastics, Judo, rowing, swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, swimming and gymnastics. The Games was organised by the ANOCA as a prelude to the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, the first olympic youth games to be held in Singapore in August. Tunisia finished leader in the medal table standings.

The Ain-Diab Circuit was a Formula One road circuit built in 1957, southwest of Ain-Diab in Morocco, using the existing coast road and the main road from Casablanca to Azemmour that ran through the Sidi Abderhaman forest. Prior to 1957, the Anfa Circuit and the Agadir circuit were used for the Moroccan Grand Prix.

Botola Pro 2, commonly known as Botola 2, is the second division of the Moroccan football league, behind the Botola, the highest football league in Morocco. It features 16 teams across the country that compete for the top two positions in the competition which at the end of the season allows them promotion to the Botola. Each season as well, the 3 bottom teams are all relegated to the third-level, Division Nationale.

It has hosted four matches of the 2013 FIFA Club World Cup in December 2013 and was one of the stadiums to be used for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations but did not host the cup because of Morocco's cancelled hosting due to fears of the Ebola outbreak. It is one of the 14 venues for Morocco's bid for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, it will host the Quarters-Finals if Morocco is awarded for the World Cup.
