The Boom Festival is an international music and culture festival near Alcafozes, in the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova, Castelo Branco District, in Portugal. The concept of this biennale consists of the crossing of different electronic music genres, psychedelic trance, downtempo, techno & house music, arts in general, painting, sculpture, yoga, video art, cinema and theater. The festival is considered the largest event of its kind in Europe every two years and by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the most famous transformational festivals in the world. A family-friendly, inclusive festival, it is carefully designed with families with babies to people with special needs in mind. The festival has been internationally recognised for its sustainability efforts.

Burning Man is a festival focused on community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance held annually in the western United States. The event derives its name from its culmination: the symbolic burning of a large wooden effigy, referred to as the Man, that occurs on the penultimate night of Burning Man, which is the Saturday evening before Labor Day. The event has been located since 1991 at Black Rock City in northwestern Nevada, a temporary city erected in the Black Rock Desert about 100 miles (160 km) north-northeast of Reno. As outlined by Burning Man co-founder Larry Harvey in 2004, the event is guided by ten principles: radical inclusion, gifting, decommodification, radical self-reliance, radical self-expression, communal effort, civic responsibility, leaving no trace, participation, and immediacy.

Further Future is a transformational festival held in southern Nevada. The Further Future model is, “a shared experience that’s beyond our future,” and, "promises a carefully curated slate of, business and cultural leaders, chefs, mixologists and masseuses". Further Future caters to a techie club of invitation only exclusives in a controlled setting. Further Future's membership is currently at 4000-5000 and is structured around a corporate retreat setting. Further Future, located on the Moapa River Indian Reservation, claims to offers an "all inclusive" festival experience, different than the, "vanish and leave no trace" principles instilled in those who participate in Burning Man. Further Future is the brainchild of a group called Robot Heart, an art and music collective known for the parties it throws during the annual Burning Man gathering in Northern Nevada's Black Rock Desert. The Further Future event, "aspires to be a gathering of people with the common goal to spend time together celebrating the infinite possibilities of the future, without necessarily being shackled to the dictates of the past or the cycles of present-day society." the invitation-only festival for as many as 5,000 people, runs from April 29 to May 1.

The Fusion Festival is a music and arts festival with a countercultural character. It takes place at a former military airport called Müritz Airpark in Lärz, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, in northeastern Germany. The festival name is often depicted in Cyrillic letters as Фузион, but pronounced like the English word fusion []. The annual festival was started by the Kulturkosmos organisation in 1997. It lasts four to six days, usually at the end of June. In 2016, the Fusion Festival event took place from June 29 - July 3, and which has attracted some 70,000 attendees for each year's festival, since the 2013 event, which the comparable American Burning Man event only matched in 2015.
