The 2015 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival was held in Vorarlberg, Austria and Liechtenstein between 25 and 30 January 2015. It was the first time that two countries become hosts in a European Youth Olympic Festival.

The 2015 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships were held in Kreischberg, Austria from January 15–25, 2015. In 2014, the FIS decided to merge the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships with the FIS Snowboarding World Championships starting with these championships. The Austrian municipality of Kreischberg was awarded the event in 2010.

The 2015 Red Bull Ring GP2 and GP3 Series rounds was a pair of motor races held on 20 and 21 June 2015 at the Red Bull Ring in Austria as part of the GP2 Series and GP3 Series. It is the first round of the 2015 GP2 season and 2015 GP3 season. The race weekend supported the 2015 Austrian Grand Prix.

The 2015 TCR International Series Red Bull Ring round was the eighth round of the 2015 TCR International Series season. It took place on 12 July at the Red Bull Ring. This round was to be held at Autódromo Juan y Oscar Gálvez on 26 July, but it was later moved due to organisational problems.

The 2015 TCR International Series Salzburgring round was the sixth round of the 2015 TCR International Series season. It took place on 31 May at the Salzburgring.

Austria competed at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China, from 22–30 August 2015.
