In 2010 the team joined the KIT SC, the sports club of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Practice takes place on the Kunstrasen field on campus. The men's teams participate in the First Bundesliga South and in the Landesliga Baden-Württemberg. The women's team plays in the Bundesliga South.

The greatest success of the association was to reach the play-off semi-finals of the first Bundesliga in 1990. In 1994 the Wild Wings were a founding member of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

In this time the club reached the play-offs on three occasions. It is also notable as the team where Markus Kuhn played before going to College in the US and later being drafted in the seventh round by the New York Giants. Kuhn later became the first German born player to score an NFL touchdown.
