12 Spa towns in Slovakia

In Slovakia about 1300 mineral sources providing curative water and high quality mineral water for drinking are registered. There are 21 thermal spa towns built on these mineral springs. The most visited are Piešťany, Trenčianske Teplicie, Bardejov and Dudince.

Bardejov is a town in North-Eastern Slovakia. It is situated in the Šariš region on a floodplain terrace of the Topľa River, in the hills of the Beskyd Mountains. It exhibits numerous cultural monuments in its completely intact medieval town center. The town is one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites and currently maintains a population of about 32,000 inhabitants.

Bojnice is a historical town in central Slovakia at the upper Nitra river, near the city of Prievidza. It has a population of around 5,000. Bojnice is best known for its tourist attractions: the oldest zoo in Slovakia, the most visited castle, and one of the oldest spa towns in Slovakia. The town is situated below the Bojnice Castle, which is built on travertine rock with a natural cave. The castle has appeared in many international films and a well-known international festival of spectres takes place there every year.

Dudince is a spa town in southern Slovakia. It is the smallest town in Slovakia with only a population of around 1,400. It is known for its mineral water, hot springs and destination spas. It's located near the edge of the Banská Bystrica Region of Slovakia.

Kováčová is a spa village in Central Slovakia, best known for its hot springs.

Nový Smokovec is a spa village in Poprad District, Slovakia. It is administratively a part of the town of Vysoké Tatry.

Piešťany is a town in Slovakia. It is located in the western part of the country within the Trnava Region and is the seat of its own district. It is the biggest and best known spa town in Slovakia and has around 28,000 inhabitants.

Rajecké Teplice is a spa town in the Žilina District, Žilina Region in northern Slovakia.

Sklené Teplice is a small spa village and municipality in Žiar nad Hronom District in the Banská Bystrica Region of central Slovakia. It is close to the historic town of Banská Štiavnica.

Sliač is a small spa town located in central Slovakia, on the Hron river, between Banská Bystrica and Zvolen. The town is known for its healing hot springs and for an airport which has been used for military as well as civil purposes. Sliač has a population of less than 5,000.

Trenčianske Teplice is a health resort and small spa town in western Slovakia, in the valley of the river Teplička, at the foothills of the Strážovské vrchy mountains. Just a few kilometres away from the city Trenčín.

Turčianske Teplice is a town in central Slovakia in the Žilina Region. It is about halfway between Martin and Kremnica. The town's population is around 6,500. The town was the historic center of the Upper Turiec subregion within the Turiec region (comitatus), and now enjoys the status of a capital of the Turčianske Teplice District.
