
Avşa Island or Türkeli is a Turkish island in the southern Sea of Marmara with an area of about 14 square miles. It was the classical and Byzantine Aphousia or Ophiousa (Οφιούσα) and was a place of exile during the Byzantine period.

It is a long and narrow island in north west to south east direction. The length of the longer dimension is 1,200 metres (3,900 ft). There are some islets to the east of the island.

The Halki seminary, formally the Theological School of Halki, was founded on 1 October 1844 on the island of Halki, the second-largest of the Princes' Islands in the Sea of Marmara. It was the main school of theology of the Eastern Orthodox Church's Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople until the Turkish parliament enacted a law banning private higher education institutions in 1971. The theological school is located at the top of the island's Hill of Hope, on the site of the Byzantine-era Monastery of the Holy Trinity. The premises of the school continue to be maintained by the monastery and are used to host conferences. It is possible to visit the island where it is located via boat in approximately one hour from the shore of Istanbul. An international campaign to reopen this theological school is ongoing.

Heybeliada or Heybeli Ada is the second largest of the Prince Islands in the Sea of Marmara, near Istanbul. It is officially a neighborhood in the Adalar district of Istanbul, Turkey.

İmralı is a small Turkish prison island in the south of the Sea of Marmara, west of the Armutlu-Bozburun peninsula within Bursa Province. It measures 8 kilometres in the north-south direction with a width of 3 kilometres, and has an area of 9.98 square kilometres (3.85 sq mi). The highest peak is Türk Tepesi at an altitude of 217 metres above sea level. It is prohibited to fly over it or fish near its shores.

Paşalimanı Island, formerly Halone, is a small island in the southern Sea of Marmara in Turkey. The island is the fourth biggest island of Turkey and administratively belongs to the Erdek town of Balikesir Province in northwestern Turkey. The island has five small villages and has 962 population in total. Paşalimanı Island is also part of the Marmara Archipelago along with other three islands "Marmara, Avşa and Ekinlik".

The island was named Yassıada until 2013, when it was renamed “Democracy and Freedom Island” in order to remember the 1960 military coup, the first in the history of the republic. In the past, the island was named Plati . The island, which has an area of 0.05 km², is officially a neighbourhood in the Adalar district of Istanbul Province, Turkey.
