The television series was produced by Atomic Cartoons, Breakthrough Films & Television, The Heroic Film Company and PASI Animation, and premiered on YTV on February 7, 2006 and ended on April 17, 2008.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the animated television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir created by Thomas Astruc. She is depicted as a French-Chinese teenage student that aspires to become a fashion designer and whose parents own a bakery. After she passes the test of Master Fu, the keeper of the magical objects named the Miraculouses, by helping him, Marinette is chosen as a future superhero alongside Cat Noir. As a result, she is given a pair of earrings known as the Ladybug Miraculous, which when worn grants Marinette the ability to transform into Ladybug, her superhero alias. Ladybug and Cat Noir's goal is to protect Paris from the villain Hawk Moth. Unknown to Marinette, Cat Noir's civilian identity is Adrien Agreste, a classmate whom she has feelings for. As the holder of a Miraculous, Marinette is assisted by a small red creature resembling a ladybug called Tikki, who is a magical being known as a kwami. As Ladybug, Marinette's signature ability is creation. Marinette appears in most Miraculous media, including the main series, the mobile running game, and the comic books.

Hitomi is a player character in the Dead or Alive series of fighting games by Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo. She was introduced in Dead or Alive 3 in 2001, replacing Ein/Hayate as the regular karate martial artist in the character roster. Hitomi is of Japanese and German descent, and she regularly enters the Dead or Alive fighting tournaments either to test her skills against other martial artists, or out of personal reasons. The character has been well received by game critics for her sex appeal and personality.

The illustration book of her works was released on February 12, 2014. A manga adaptation was serialized in Kodansha's monthly Nakayoshi magazine. The series has made use of butterflies as the main motif whilst GoGo!'s main motif is roses.

Kenshi is a fictional character from the Mortal Kombat fighting game by Netherrealm Studios. He is a rogue swordsman of Japanese heritage who possesses psychokinetic powers and nurses a bitter hatred for the evil sorcerer named Shang Tsung, whose deceit had resulted in Kenshi's living. Since debuting in 2002's Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, he has persistently featured in the series storyline by freeing Ermac from Outworld emperor Shao Kahn's control, joining the Special Forces alongside Jax and Sonya Blade, and seeking to bring down Mavado and his Red Dragon faction, in addition to associating with the likes of Sub-Zero and Johnny Cage.
