Developed by Incentive Software and published by Domark, it was released in 1991 on multiple platforms. The game originally retailed for £24.99 for the 8-bit version, and £49.99 for 16-bit version, in the United Kingdom. A sequel, 3D Construction Kit II, was released in 1992, but only available on Amiga, Atari ST and MS-DOS.

Boulder Dash Construction Kit is the fourth game in the Boulder Dash series. It was first published for the Commodore 64 by Epyx in 1986. Ports were later released for the Atari 8-bit family, Apple II, ZX Spectrum, and Atari ST The Spectrum version was rereleased as Boulder Dash IV: The Game. The available categories are "newest", "oldest", "worst rated", "best rated", "popular" and "most played" with the number of up votes and downs votes affecting best rated and worst rated respectively. It is commonly referred as a Super Mario Maker alternative by Mega Man fans.

Pinball Construction Set (PCS) is a video game by Bill Budge published by Electronic Arts. It was developed for the Apple II and ported to the Atari 8-bit family and Commodore 64 in 1983. Pinball Construction Set created a new genre of video games—the "builder" or "construction set" class of games. Users can construct their own virtual pinball machine by dropping bumpers, flippers, spinners and other pinball paraphernalia onto a table. Attributes such as gravity and the physics model can be modified. Users can save their creations and develop custom artwork to go along with them. Tables can be saved on floppy disks and freely traded; Pinball Construction Set is not needed to play the tables.

Super Mario Maker 2 is a side-scrolling platform game and game creation system developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It is the sequel to Super Mario Maker, and it was released worldwide on June 28, 2019. The gameplay is largely retained from that of its predecessor, in which players create their own custom courses using assets from various games across the Super Mario franchise and share them online. Super Mario Maker 2 introduces new features and course assets, including a new course style and assets based on Super Mario 3D World. Like its predecessor, the game was met with positive reviews from critics, who praised its interface, course editing tools and music, although issues with the online mode were criticized.
