Alien Carnage, originally released as Halloween Harry, is a side-scrolling platform game developed by Interactive Binary Illusions and SubZero Software, and distributed by Apogee Software. The game features 256-colour VGA graphics and background music in MOD format. Alien Carnage is composed of four episodes. The first episode was released as shareware, and the rest were distributed commercially. In May 2007, John Passfield and 3D Realms released Alien Carnage as freeware. In 2014, the game was re-released with Windows support.

The game is the sequel to the 1995 game Command & Conquer, and featured a number of improvements on the original including a change to in-game perspective, balancing of units between playable factions, additional resources for gathering, new graphic effects and a new soundtrack. The main story of the game focuses on a new conflict between the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) and the Brotherhood of Nod. Kane, the leader of the Brotherhood of Nod, who was presumed dead at the end of the previous game's canonical ending, returns with a plan that GDI seek to thwart.

John Romero's Daikatana is a first-person shooter video game developed by Ion Storm for Microsoft Windows and Nintendo 64, and released in 2000. The Game Boy Color game of the same name released the same year is entirely different, being a top-down action-adventure game by Japanese studio Kemco. The game is split into four episodes, each representing a different time period, and is centred around the conflict between two rival clans, the Ebihara and Mishima. During development, the game initially had the original Quake engine; however, this was switched to the Quake II engine, causing the game to be delayed. Close to release, the promotion for the game focused on the lead developers and the studio, and one notorious aspect of the promotion was a poster with the phrase "John Romero's About To Make You His Bitch".

It was released in Japan on September 15, 2005, in Europe on October 21, 2005 distributed by Atari Europe, and in North America on October 26, 2005, but releasing it under the same name as the original PS2 game caused confusion and misinterpretation of it as a port.
