
The armée secrète was a French military organization active during World War II. The collective grouped the paramilitary formations of the three most important Gaullist resistance movements in the southern zone: Combat, Libération-sud and the Franc-Tireurs.

Dieppe Canadian War Cemetery is a Second World War military war grave cemetery, located in the village of Hautot-sur-Mer, 5 km (3.1 mi) south of Dieppe in Normandy, France. It contains Canadian and British soldiers killed during the Dieppe Raid on the 18/19 August 1942. This large scale daylight assault on a fortified objective was an abject failure and casualties were very heavy. Of an attacking military force of some 6,100, over 3,600 were killed, wounded, missing or taken prisoner.

Union Sportive Joué-lès-Tours was a French football club founded in 1942. The club dissolved in 2008 when they and ASC Joué Touraine merged to form Joué-lès-Tours FCT. They were based in the town of Joué-lès-Tours, Indre-et-Loire and their home stadium was the Stade Jean Bouin. In the 1982–83 season, the side were crowned champions of the Division d'Honneur de Centre, the sixth tier of French football.

Serragia Airfield is an abandoned military airfield in France, located approximately 26 km west-southwest of Porto-Vecchio on Corsica. Its last known use was by the United States Army Air Force Twelfth Air Force in 1944.
