The Slovak–Hungarian diplomatic affairs of 2006 were a series of ethnic and diplomatic affairs between Slovakia and Hungary.

Cannabis in Slovakia is illegal for all purposes and possession of even small amounts of the drug can lead to lengthy prison terms. Possession or use of small amounts of cannabis is punishable by up to eight years in prison. In April 2012, The Wall Street Journal reported that Robert Fico, the incoming Slovak prime minister, might push for partial legalisation of cannabis possession, and has argued for the legalisation of possession of up to three doses of cannabis for personal use.

Central 5 also Central Five (C5) is an informal political cooperation between Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and Slovenia that began in 2020. It is organised in the format of ministers responsible for foreign affairs. The group was initiated by the Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg.

The Kresťanskodemokratická mládež Slovenska or KDMS is the youth organisation of the conservative Slovak political party, KDH. They share the same ideological platform with the KDH: a centre-right ideology, Christian democracy and economic liberalism. Membership focuses on young people aged between 15 and 30, while only those between 18 and 30 eligible to candidate for functions.

Slovak nationality law is the law governing the acquisition, transmission and loss of Slovak citizenship. The Citizenship Act is a law enacted by the National Council of Slovakia in regard to the nationality law following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia. In 2010, it was controversially amended, enacting loss of Slovak citizenship upon naturalization elsewhere. This was said to have affected the 2012 election to some degree.

Corruption in Slovakia is a serious and ongoing problem.

Gorilla scandal is a political corruption scandal in Slovakia. It is named after a Slovak Secret Service wiretap file from the years 2005-2006 which leaked to the internet in December 2011. The file suggests information about politicians, officials and business executives discussing kickbacks in return for procurement and privatization contracts. However the accuracy of the content has not been officially confirmed yet and due to lack of the original tapes it is rather speculation than evidence of true conversations. The file presents alleged massive corruption at the highest level and its leak to the public rocked the Slovak political scene. On October 16, 2019, several Slovak mainstream medias received a link to download a file that appear to be a copy of original wiretapping operation Gorilla.

Homeland is a non-parliamentary political party in Slovakia.

The inauguration of Zuzana Čaputová was held on Saturday 15 June 2019 at 11:45 AM in the Slovak Philharmonic in Bratislava the capital of Slovakia. It took place during solemn session of the National Council, the highest law-making institution in Slovakia. Čaputová assumed office by taking an oath on the constitution and into the hands of the Chief Justice of The Constitutional Court of Slovakia, Ivan Fiačan.

Slovakization or Slovakisation is a form of either forced or voluntary cultural assimilation, during which non-Slovak nationals give up their culture and language in favor of the Slovak one. This process has relied most heavily on intimidation and harassment by state authorities. In the past the process has been greatly aided by deprivation of collective rights for minorities and ethnic cleansing, but in the last decades its promotion has been limited to the adoption of anti-minority policies and anti-minority hate speech.

Change from Bottom, Democratic Union of Slovakia is a non-parliamentary political party in Slovakia since 2000. Its chairman Ján Budaj is a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic elected on the OĽaNO party's list of candidates.
