
The sultans of Zanzibar were the rulers of the Sultanate of Zanzibar, which was created on 19 October 1856 after the death of Said bin Sultan, who had ruled Oman and Zanzibar as the sultan of Oman since 1804. The sultans of Zanzibar were of a cadet branch of the Al Said Dynasty of Oman.

Sayyid Ali bin Hamud Al-Busaid was the eighth Sultan of Zanzibar from 1902 to 1911.

Sayyid Ali bin Said Al-Busaid, GCSI, was the fourth Sultan of Zanzibar. He ruled Zanzibar from February 13, 1890, to March 5, 1893. In June 1890 he was forced to accept a British protectorate over his dominions.

Sayyid Barghash bin Said Al-Busaid, GCMG, GCTE, was an Omani Sultan and the son of Said bin Sultan, was the second Sultan of Zanzibar. Barghash ruled Zanzibar from 7 October 1870 to 26 March 1888.

Sayyid Hamad bin Thuwaini Al-Busaid was the fifth Sultan of Zanzibar. He ruled Zanzibar from 5 March 1893 to 25 August 1896.

Sayyid Hamoud bin Mohammed Al-Said, GCSI, was the British-controlled Omani sultan of the protectorate of Zanzibar, who outlawed slavery on the island.

Sultan Sir Jamshid bin Abdullah Al Said, GCMG, is a Zanzibari royal who was the last reigning Sultan of Zanzibar before being deposed in the 1964 Zanzibar Revolution.

Sayyid Khalid bin Barghash Al-Busa'id was the sixth Sultan of Zanzibar.

Sayyid Sir Khalifa II bin Harub Al-Said GCB GCMG GBE was the ninth Sultan of Zanzibar. He ruled Zanzibar from 9 December 1911 to 9 October 1960.

Sayyid Khalifa I bin Said Al-Busaid, GCMG, was the third Sultan of Zanzibar. He ruled Zanzibar from 26 March 1888 to 13 February 1890 and was succeeded by his brother, Ali bin Said.

Said bin Sultan Al-Busaidi, was Sultan of Muscat and Oman from 1807 to 4 June 1856. His rule commenced following the death of his father, Sultan, in November 1804 and a period of conflict and internecine rivalry that followed. He is sometimes referred to as the Lion of Oman, as one of Oman’s most successful leaders. Said's brother Qais bin Ahmad finally agreed to Said's primacy following Said's killing of his cousin, Badar bin Saif, a pretender to the throne.

Majid bin Said al-Busaidi was the first Sultan of Zanzibar. He ruled Zanzibar from 19 October 1856 to 7 October 1870.
