The Washington State Department of Corrections (WADOC) is a department of the government of the state of Washington. WADOC is responsible for administering adult corrections programs operated by the State of Washington. This includes state correctional institutions and programs for people supervised in the community. Its headquarters are in Tumwater, Washington.

Ahtanum View Corrections Center was Washington's convalescent hospital for convicts until the Dept. of Corrections closed the facility in 2010 due to budget cuts. It was where inmates with long-term care issues were incarcerated. These can be issues relating to age or long-term health-care needs. Since this facility closed, the inmates were relocated to a new medical housing unit at Coyote Ridge Corrections Center in Connell, Washington, as well as other prison facilities in the state depending on the level of medical care the individual inmates required at the time of transfer.

The Airway Heights Corrections Center is a state prison for men located in Airway Heights, Spokane County, Washington, owned and operated by the Washington State Department of Corrections.

Camp Columbia or Columbia Camp was a prison labor camp established on the north shore of the Yakima River opening on February 1, 1944 near Horn Rapids. The camp was operated between February 1944 and October 1947 by Federal Bureau of Prisons to provide labor supporting the Hanford Site. The camp was used to house "minimum-custody-type improvable male offenders," who had no more than one year to serve. These were violators of national defense, wartime and military laws. Included were conscientious objectors, violators of rationing and price support laws, those convicted of espionage, sabotage and sedition and those convicted by military courts martial. Aliens who failed to register were also in this category but none of them were sent here because the camp was located on the southern edge of the 670 square miles (1,740 km2) Hanford Site.

Clallam Bay Corrections Center is situated on the Olympic Peninsula in Clallam County, two miles south of the community of Clallam Bay, Washington.

Coyote Ridge Corrections Center is a medium security prison located in Connell, Washington. Coyote Ridge is the largest prison by capacity in the state and is operated by the Washington State Department of Corrections.

The Federal Detention Center, SeaTac is a prison operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. It is located in SeaTac, Washington, near the Seattle–Tacoma International Airport, 12 miles (19 km) south of downtown Seattle and 16 miles (26 km) north of Tacoma, 1 mile (2 km) west of the 200th Street exit at the Interstate 5. The facility is also adjacent to the Angle Lake light rail station.

The McNeil Island Corrections Center (MICC) was a prison in the northwest United States, operated by the Washington State Department of Corrections. It was on McNeil Island in Puget Sound in unincorporated Pierce County, near Steilacoom, Washington.

Monroe Correctional Complex is a Washington State Department of Corrections men's prison located in Monroe, Washington, United States. With an operating capacity of 2,500, it is the second largest prison in the state. It opened in 1910, 21 years after statehood.

Northwest Detention Center is a privately-run detention center located on the tide flats of the Port of Tacoma in Tacoma, Washington, USA. The detention center is operated by the GEO Group on behalf of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The NWDC's current capacity is 1575, making it one of the largest detention center in the United States. Numerous hunger strikes have been launched by inmates of the NWDC to protest the Center's poor conditions. Detainees have repeatedly reported overcrowding, a lack of medical attention, and severely unsanitary conditions, especially during COVID-19: "they're not even offering us soap."

The Olympic Corrections Center is located in Jefferson County, west of Olympic National Park. It is within the service area of the Forks, Washington, post office, even though it is not close to that city. It is a minimum security facility. Inmates there often work fighting forest fires during the summer, assisting the Department of Natural Resources in clearing and planting trees.

Stafford Creek Corrections Center (SCCC) is a Washington State Department of Corrections state prison for men located in Aberdeen, Washington. The facility opened in 2000, has an operating capacity of 1936 inmates, and supports a mix of minimum, medium, and maximum security levels.

With an operating capacity of 1,300, it is the sixth largest prison in the state and is surrounded by forestland. It opened 57 years ago in 1964, seventy-five years after statehood.

With an operating capacity of 2,200, it is the second largest prison in the state and is surrounded by wheat fields. It opened 135 years ago in 1886, three years before statehood.
