The School Organisation Committee consisted of five voting groups:LEA, made up of elected members Church of England Catholic Church Learning and Skills Council schools, by serving governors.banned corporal punishment in all schools.
WScouting in Wales provides an overview of Scouting activities in Wales. Scout troops have existed in the country since 1908 with the largest number of Scouts and volunteer leaders today linked to the Scout Association of the United Kingdom. This is done through ScoutsCymru, the Welsh Scout Council who split the region further into four regions and a total of 12 Scout Areas. In addition to the Scout Association, there are also traditional Scouting groups belonging to the Baden-Powell Scouts' Association and a number of Scouting clubs within Universities which are affiliated to the Student Scout and Guide Organisation.
WThe Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) was a body responsible for the initial and in-service training of teachers and other school staff in England. It was an executive non-departmental public body of the Department for Education. The agency took on some operations of the General Teaching Council for England, the Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency and the Children's Workforce Development Council as the newly established Teaching Agency in April 2012.
WTŷ Newydd is a historic house in Llanystumdwy, near Criccieth, in Gwynedd, north-west Wales. Since 1990 it has housed the National Writing Centre of Wales. The centre specialises in residential creative writing and retreats. The courses are in both the English and Welsh languages, and cover many genres, forms and styles. The centre also holds regular seminars and forums.
WUndeb Cenedlaethol Athrawon Cymru commonly referred to as UCAC, was formed in Wales from a split from the NUT in the late 1940s over the issue of the Welsh language in teaching. It has around 4,000 members, who are nearly all Welsh speakers, representing mainly teachers in Welsh medium schools or teachers of Welsh in English medium schools. It accounts for about 15% of the total teacher workforce in Wales.
WUrdd Gobaith Cymru is a national voluntary youth organisation, which claimed over 56,000 members in 2019 aged between 8 and 25 years old. It provides opportunities for children and young people across Wales to take part in a range of experiences through the medium of Welsh.
