Albany Regional Prison is a maximum security prison located 8 km West of Albany, Western Australia. Albany Prison was commissioned in 1966 with a capacity of 72 minimum security cells. In 1979 it was upgraded to maximum security and in 1988 expanded to a capacity of 126. In 1993 it expanded again, to 186 standard-bed cells and by 2013 to 310.

HM Prison Bendigo was a medium security prison facility located in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. Constructed in the early 1860s, the prison officially closed in 2006, and has since been converted into Ulumbarra Theatre, one of the city's largest performing arts venues.

Brisbane Correctional Centre, formerly the Sir David Longland Correctional Centre, is a prison facility located at Wacol, Queensland, Australia, which was renovated and re-opened in June 2008. The complex houses a water conservation system, a unit specifically designed for 17-year-old prisoners, which has since been closed due to amended laws, and an ultra-modern maximum security wing for dangerous offenders. The facility currently consists of 16 units, including a protection unit mainly for old prisoners and prisoners with sexual charges, as well as a medical unit for prisoners with serious psychological problems and suicidal thoughts. A typical unit has approximately 70 prisoners.

The Doug Owston Correctional Centre, is an Australian minimum to maximum security prison for males and females. The centre is located in Holtze, Northern Territory, Australia, 22 kilometres (14 mi) south–east of Darwin and has a capacity of 800 prisoners, replacing the Berrimah Prison.

HM Prison Sale was a prison in Sale, Victoria, Australia. The prison was first proclaimed on the 28 October 1864, and the stone for the prison was prepared near Port Albert. That proclamation was revoked on 28 October 1887. A new prison was proclaimed on the 2nd of September, 1881, construction was completed in 1882. The prison was opened when William Gardner was appointed Governor on the 1st of July 1887. The Sale prison remained on that site until it closed in April 1997. The site now houses the Sale Police Station, which features some of the old prison walls.
