He was the chairman of Iranian football club Sepahan F.C. from 1999 until his resignation in 2011. His role as the leader of a planned attack with hand-made bomb on Persepolis bus is under investigations. His personal ties with one of the attackers has been used as a strong evidence in interrogations. Meanwhile, the complaints made to AFC presenting evidences supporting Saket's role in this terrorist attack would cause a lifetime suspension from football related activities for him and elimination of Sepahan from AFC listed leagues.

Captain Rashid Sazmand has also been a member of board of directors (1986–2006) of Malavan Bandar Anzali Football Club. He is currently the senior consultant to the board of directors and a board member of Akam Ata Anzali Free Zone Co. which is an international marketing and trade, and management consulting company in Iran.
