WTun Abdullah bin Ahmad Badawi is a Malaysian politician who served as the 5th Prime Minister of Malaysia from 2003 to 2009. He was also the President of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), the largest political party in Malaysia, and led the governing Barisan Nasional parliamentary coalition. He is informally known as Pak Lah, Pak meaning 'Uncle', while Lah is taken from his name 'Abdullah'. He is also referred to as the "Father of Human Capital Development".

WZachary David Liew Vui Keong was a Malaysian politician who served as the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of legal affairs in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020 and Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department also in charge of legal affairs as well as Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry I in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Ministers Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Razak from March 2008 to May 2013. He also served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Batu Sapi from May 2018 to his death in October 2020 and for Sandakan from March 2008 to his defeat in May 2013. He served as 3rd President of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) from 2006 to 2014, when he was replaced by Teo Chee Kang in a rancorous internal dispute. He disputed Teo's claim of the LDP party presidency with the Registrar of Societies (RoS). In 2018, Liew led about 200 LDP members to leave the party. He then joined another Sabah-based political party, Sabah Heritage Party (WARISAN) led by former Chief Minister of Sabah Shafie Apdal and served as its Permanent Chairman.

WTan Sri Dato' Haji Mahiaddin bin Md. Yasin, familiarly known as Muhyiddin bin Mohd. Yassin, is a Malaysian politician who served as the 8th Prime Minister of Malaysia from March 2020 to August 2021. He is the shortest-serving Prime Minister in Malaysian history by serving for only 17 months. He previously served as the 10th Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Home Affairs and in many other Cabinet positions under former Prime Ministers Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Najib Razak and Mahathir Mohamad, from May 1995 to February 2020. During the 2020–21 Malaysian political crisis, Mahathir's resignation on 24 February 2020 led to Muhyiddin being declared Prime Minister by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. He was formally appointed and sworn in on 1 March 2020, and shortly afterwards directed Malaysia's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Muhyiddin resigned on 16 August 2021 after losing majority support over his government's pandemic response.

He has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kota Raja since May 2018, Kuala Kedah from November 1999 to March 2004, Kubang Kerian from April 1995 to November 1999 and Nilam Puri from October 1990 to April 1995. He has also served as the founding and 1st President of the National Trust Party (AMANAH), a component party of the PH opposition coalition and rebranded from the Malaysian Workers' Party (PPPM) after it was taken over by the Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB) led by him which left the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) in 2015 thanks to their ideological differences with the PAS leaders, since 2015. He also served as Deputy President of PAS, a former component party of the former Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and Barisan Alternatif (BA) opposition coalitions, from 2011 to 2015. He was elected to the party deputy presidency in 2011, running on a moderate platform against the conservative incumbent Nasharudin Mat Isa. He had also served as the party Vice-President prior to his election as the party Deputy President. He was the first non-alim elected to the party leadership or deputy presidency in over 25 years.
