Edward Charles Allan "Eddie" Brock is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by David Michelinie and Todd McFarlane, and his earliest appearance was a cameo in Web of Spider-Man #18, before making his first full appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #300 as the original and most well-known host of the Venom symbiote. The character has since appeared in many Marvel Comics publications, including his own series Venom. Introduced as a villain of the superhero Spider-Man, the character has endured as one of Spider-Man's archenemies, and is regarded by many as a dark reflection of Spider-Man. He later evolved into an antiheroic figure, slowly distancing himself from his initial goal to ruin Spider-Man's life and instead try to do good.

Portrayed by Nicole de Boer, she is a counselor aboard the Bajoran space station Deep Space Nine. The character is a member of the Trill species, and is formed of both a host and a symbiont—referred to as Dax. Ezri was introduced to the series following the death of the previous Dax host, Jadzia at the end of season six. It had been the producers' intention to introduce a new female character bearing the symbiont in order to ensure that Nana Visitor as Kira Nerys was not the only female member of the main cast. There were difficulties in casting initially, and the character changed from one who was intended to be "spooky" to one who was struggling to deal with all her previous personalities as a result of unexpectedly taking on the Dax symbiont. De Boer was not considered for the part until co-producer Hans Beimler suggested that she should submit an audition tape, which resulted in her invitation to meet with the producers in Los Angeles and in her gaining the role.

Kasady and Carnage are a perfect match, as they both have sadistic personalities, and the symbiote only increases Kasady's already existent violent tendencies.

He also trains Goku's eldest child Gohan in martial arts, with the two forming a strong bond.
