400 Poydras Tower, formerly known as the Texaco Center, located at 400 Poydras Street in the Central Business District of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a 32-story, 442 feet (135 m)-tall skyscraper. Built in 1983, this modern office tower features more than 620,000 square feet (58,000 m2) of office space with an average of 22,000 rentable square feet per floor.

Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles, originally built as the California Petroleum Corporation Building and later known as the Texaco Building, is a 243 ft (74 m), 13-story highrise hotel and theater building located at 937 South Broadway in downtown Los Angeles, California. It was the tallest building in the city for one year after its completion in 1927, and was the tallest privately owned structure in Los Angeles until 1956. Its style is Spanish Gothic, patterned after Segovia Cathedral in Segovia, Spain.

David Carl Allison was an American NASCAR driver. He was best known for driving the No. 28 Texaco-Havoline Ford for Robert Yates Racing in the Winston Cup Series. Born in Hollywood, Florida, he was the oldest of four children born to Bobby and Judy Allison. The family moved to Hueytown, Alabama, and along with Bobby Allison's brother, Donnie, Red Farmer and Neil Bonnett, became known as the Alabama Gang.

Ambler's Texaco Gas Station, also known as Becker's Marathon Gas Station, is a historic filling station located at the intersection of Old U.S. Route 66 and Illinois Route 17 in the village of Dwight, Illinois, United States. The station has been identified as the longest operating gas station along Route 66; it dispensed fuel for 66 continuous years until 1999. The station is a good example of a domestic style gas station and derives its most common names from ownership stints by two different men. North of the station is an extant outbuilding that once operated as a commercial icehouse. Ambler's was the subject of major restoration work from 2005–2007, and reopened as a Route 66 visitor's center in May 2007. It was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

The Buchan oil field is a small oil field with small gas reserves in the central North Sea. It lies in an area known as the South Halibut Basin, approximately 120 miles (190 km) northeast of Aberdeen, Scotland, and is located mainly in license block 21/1A, extending into block 20/5A(E). The field was discovered in August 1974, two years after the issue date for those blocks. It is named after Buchan, an area of N.E. Scotland with its main town being Peterhead.

Dave's Texaco is a site on the National Register of Historic Places located in Chinook, Montana. It was added to the Register on August 16, 1994. The building was a gas station and has also been known as Dave's Exxon and as Dave's Conoco. The building is made of stucco on a concrete foundation and with an asphalt roof.

The Deerfield Texaco Service Station, at 105 W. 6th in Deerfield, Kansas, is a historic one-story service station built in 1923 on the old U.S. Highway 50. It was deemed significant for association with economic development and transportation in Deerfield, and for its Tudor Revival architecture.

The Huntley–Brinkley Report was an American evening news program that aired on NBC from October 29, 1956, to July 31, 1970. It was anchored by Chet Huntley in New York City, and David Brinkley in Washington, D.C. It succeeded the Camel News Caravan, anchored by John Cameron Swayze. The program ran for 15 minutes at its inception but expanded to 30 minutes on September 9, 1963, exactly a week after the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite did so. The Little Chief Service Station is a designated Municipal Heritage Property located in the Riversdale, neighborhood of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. It was originally built as a gas service station for Texaco Oil Company of Canada. Cars and farm vehicles were often serviced at the station while owners shopped in the Riversdale area. The restored building design makes use of white stucco walls, rounded roof tiles, decorative brick, heavy tiled cornices, roof parapets, iron windows and copper gutters.

McColl-Frontenac Oil Company Limited was a Canadian integrated oil company. It was created in 1927 as a result of a merger between two companies, McColl Brothers, founded by John McColl in 1873, and Frontenac Oil Refineries. Shares in the new company were acquired by the Texas Company (Texaco) and by 1941 it had acquired a majority ownership position of McColl-Frontenac. On 2 February 1959 the company was renamed Texaco Canada Limited, which on 1 June 1978 became Texaco Canada Incorporated. McColl-Frontenac was known for its branding of its oil and products as "Red Indian." In 1989, Texaco Canada was acquired by Imperial Oil. Non retail operations continued as Texaco Canada Petroleum Incorporated until 1995.

SS Ohio was an oil tanker built for the Texas Oil Company. The ship was launched on 20 April 1940 at the Sun Shipbuilding & Drydock Co. in Chester, Pennsylvania. The United Kingdom requisitioned her to re-supply the island fortress of Malta during the Second World War.

It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since May 23, 1973.

Salvatore v. Commissioner is an opinion from the United States Tax Court that holds that a taxpayer cannot avoid paying taxes on the sale of property by first conveying that property to someone else. This opinion was later affirmed by the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. This case outlines some limitations on the "fruit-and-tree" metaphor established in Lucas v. Earl, 281 U.S. 111 (1930) and further developed in Helvering v. Horst, 311 U.S. 112 (1940). Decided in 1970, the case arose when a taxpayer tried to avoid paying capital gains tax from sale of property by giving a share in that property to her children. She then paid a gift tax, which is significantly less than the tax on the gain would have been if she had not given a share to her children.

Spindletop is an oil field located in the southern portion of Beaumont, Texas, in the United States. The Spindletop dome was derived from the Louann Salt evaporite layer of the Jurassic geologic period. On January 10, 1901, a well at Spindletop struck oil. The Spindletop gusher blew for 9 days at a rate estimated at 100,000 barrels (16,000 m3) of oil per day. Gulf Oil and Texaco, now part of Chevron Corporation, were formed to develop production at Spindletop. The Spindletop discovery led the United States into the oil age. Prior to Spindletop, oil was primarily used for lighting and as a lubricant. Because of the quantity of oil discovered, burning petroleum as a fuel for mass consumption suddenly became economically feasible.

The Texaco Service Station, at 201 W. 4th Ave. in Bristow, Oklahoma, was built in 1923. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.
