Ole Einar Bjørndalen is a retired Norwegian professional biathlete and coach, often referred to by the nickname, the "King of Biathlon". With 13 Winter Olympic Games medals, he is second on the list of multiple medalists behind Marit Bjørgen who has won 15 medals. He is also the most successful biathlete of all time at the Biathlon World Championships, having won 45 medals, more than double that of any other biathlete except Martin Fourcade. With 95 World Cup wins, Bjørndalen is ranked first all-time for career victories on the Biathlon World Cup tour, more than twice that of anyone else but Fourcade. He has won the Overall World Cup title six times, in 1997–98, in 2002–03, in 2004–05, in 2005–06, in 2007–08 and in 2008–09.

Tadeja Brankovič-Likozar is a retired Slovenian biathlete. She has been a member of the Slovenian biathlon team since 1995. So far she has five podium finishes in the Biathlon World Cup.

Ilmārs Bricis is a former Latvian biathlete, who has participated in six Winter Olympics from 1992 to 2010.

Ekaterina Dafovska is a Bulgarian biathlete. She took up the biathlon in 1992. She made the national team in 1993 and came in 29th in the 15-kilometer competition at the Lillehammer Olympics the following year. She won a gold Olympic medal at the 15 km Individual event during the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano. As of 2021, her gold medal is the only one won by a Bulgarian at a Winter Olympic games.

Andriy Vasylovych Deryzemlya is a former Ukrainian biathlete who competed at the top level for eleven seasons before winning his first international medal, a bronze medal at the 2007 World Championship. In 2008 together with Oksana Khvostenko he won World Team Challenge.

Vladimir Petrovich Drachev is a former Soviet, Russian and Belarusian biathlete. He formerly had Russian citizenship and started for Russia until 2002. Drachev has four world championship titles in his career. He also has two olympic relay medals for Russia. During his career he took a total of 11 World Championship medals and 15 World Cup race wins. He was also known as one of the fastest shots in the sport whilst competing.

Sven Fischer is a former German biathlete. He trained with the WSV Oberhof 05 club, and was coached by Frank Ullrich and Fritz Fischer and Klaus Siebert. After the 2006/07 biathlon season, he retired.

Magdalena "Magda" Forsberg is a former Swedish cross-country skier and biathlete. She was the dominating female biathlete from 1997 to 2002, when she retired, winning the Biathlon World Cup for six years straight. She is also a six-times world champion, a two-times Olympic bronze medalist, and holds the record for the most World Cup victories in women's biathlon.

Liv Grete Skjelbreid from Hålandsdal, Fusa, near the city of Bergen in western Norway, is a former professional biathlete. On 20 March 2006, Liv Grete announced her retirement, effective at the end of the season which ended on 26 March at the Holmenkollen. She said that she was retiring because of her young daughter, Emma, her family and because she did not have the motivation to continue.

Zdeněk Vítek is a Czech former biathlete. Vítek retired from the sport at the end of the 2013–14 season. In May 2014, he was named as the head coach for the Czech Republic's women biathlon team. After four years in this role, in June 2018 Vitek became head coach of the Czech men's team.

Tord Wiksten is a former Swedish biathlete. At the 1992 Olympics in Albertville, Wiksten won a bronze medal in the 4 x 7.5 km relay with the Swedish team. His teammates were Mikael Löfgren, Ulf Johansson, and Leif Andersson.

Olena Zubrilova is a Ukrainian biathlete who has been competing for Belarus since 2002. Prior to that, she had competed for Ukraine from 1991 until she changed her citizenship to Belarus in 2002.
