HNLMS Jan van Brakel (F825) was a frigate of the Kortenaer class. The ship was in service with the Royal Netherlands Navy from 1983 to 2001. She was named after Jan van Brakel, a Dutch naval commander from the seventeenth century. She was renamed HS Kanaris (F464) on transfer to the Hellenic Navy in 2002.

INS Khukri was a Type 14 (Blackwood-class) frigate of the Indian Navy. She was sunk off the coast of Diu, Gujarat, India by the Pakistan Navy Daphné-class submarine Hangor on 9 December 1971 during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. This was the first warship sunk in action by a submarine since World War II. It remains the post-Independence Indian navy's only warship to be lost in war to date.

HNLMS Kortenaer (F807) was a frigate of the Kortenaer class. The ship was in service with the Royal Netherlands Navy from 1978 to 1997 and today serves as HS Kountouriotis with the Hellenic Navy. The frigate was initially named after Dutch naval hero Egbert Bartholomeusz Kortenaer and then after Pavlos Kountouriotis, distinguished Admiral of the Hellenic Navy, responsible for Greek naval victories in the Aegean Sea that secured the Aegean for Greece during the First Balkan War. The ship's radio call sign was "PADA".

The F Liberal (F-43) is a Niteroi-class frigate of the Brazilian Navy. The Defensora was the fourth ship of her class ordered by the Brazilian Navy, on 20 September 1970. The Niterói was launched on 7 February 1977, and was commissioned on 18 November 1978.

Limnos (F451) is an Elli-class frigate of the Hellenic Navy, and the third Greek warship to bear the name. The class is based on the Royal Netherlands Navy's Kortenaer class and was built in a Dutch shipyard; however, unlike later members of her class in the Hellenic Navy, she was not originally in Dutch service, but was sold directly to Greece. Limnos was constructed in Vlissingen, Netherlands, along with her sister ship Elli. The contract for her construction was signed in Athens in July 1981 and her commissioning took place on 18 September 1982. After commissioning, Limnos joined the Hellenic Fleet on 5 November 1982 and since then she has actively participated in its activities.

Maestrale (F 570) is the lead ship of the Maestrale-class frigate of the Italian Navy.

The ship is named after Peder Skram, a 16th-century Danish admiral.

Westdiep was a Wielingen-class frigate of the Belgian Navy. She was launched on 8 December 1975 at the Cockerill Yards in Hoboken, and christened by Princess Astrid of Belgium, on 20 January 1978. The patronage of the Westdiep was accepted by the city of Sint-Niklaas. Westdiep was the second ship in the Wielingen class. She had the pennant number F911.

Wielingen was a Wielingen-class frigate of the Belgian Navy, launched on 30 March 1976 at the Boelwerf in Temse, and christened by Queen Fabiola of Belgium, on 20 January 1978. The patronage of the Wielingen was accepted by the city of Malmedy. Wielingen was the first ship in the Wielingen class, and had the pennant number F910.
