Dauman Music is an American entertainment company and record label headquartered in Los Angeles. The company was founded in 2007 by Jason Dauman who was originally a song placer and music publisher.

Universal Music Group N.V. is a global music corporation. UMG's corporate headquarters are located in Hilversum, Netherlands and its operational headquarters are located in Santa Monica, California. The biggest music company in the world, it is one of the "Big Three" record labels, along with Sony Music and Warner Music Group. Tencent acquired ten percent of Universal Music Group in March 2020 for €3 billion and acquired an additional ten percent stake in January 2021. Pershing Square Holdings later acquired ten percent of UMG prior to its IPO at Euronext Amsterdam. UMG had its IPO on September 21, 2021.

On June 1, 2008, a fire broke out on the backlot of Universal Studios Hollywood, an American film studio and theme park in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles County, California. The fire began when a worker used a blowtorch to warm asphalt shingles that were being applied to a facade. He left before checking that all spots had cooled, and a three-alarm fire broke out. Nine firefighters and a Los Angeles County sheriffs' deputy sustained minor injuries. The fire was extinguished after 24 hours.

Abbey Road Studios is a recording studio at 3 Abbey Road, St John's Wood, City of Westminster, London, England. It was established in November 1931 by the Gramophone Company, a predecessor of British music company EMI, which owned it until Universal Music took control of part of EMI in 2013.

American Recordings is an American record label headed by producer Rick Rubin. The label has featured artists such as Slayer, the Black Crowes, ZZ Top, Danzig, Trouble, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, The Mother Hips, and System of a Down.

Associated Production Music, LLC is an American production music company headquartered in Hollywood, California, initially as a joint venture between Zomba/Jive Production Music and EMI Production Music. APM Music's catalog contains more than 820,000 tracks and its libraries include KPM Music, Bruton, Sonoton, Cezame, Hard and Kosinus, among others. Music tracks from APM Music are used in TV shows, including SpongeBob_SquarePants, Ren & Stimpy, GLOW, This is Us, and Westworld; films, including Lady Bird, Mudbound, and The Disaster Artist; and video games, including Skylanders: Imaginators, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands. NFL Films has a joint venture between the NFL and APM Music where music is composed for NFL-related media. The APM catalog includes recordings dating back to 1900, music representing 192 countries, and well-known tracks like "Heavy Action", "The Big One", and "Sweet Victory".

Astralwerks is an American record label primarily focused on electronic music owned by Universal Music Group. Its material is distributed via Capitol Music Group in the United States. The label was founded in 1993 and, in its early years, featured prominent acts like The Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim. In recent years, its roster has expanded to include acts like Halsey, Marshmello, Porter Robinson, Illenium, ZHU and numerous others. In 2018, Astralwerks' headquarters were moved from its original home of New York City to Los Angeles.

The Blue Note Label Group was formed in late 2006 by the major record company EMI and is currently owned by the Universal Music Group. It is home to many alternative, classical and jazz artists, and contains the following labels:

Caroline Records is a record label originally founded in 1973. Initially founded in the United Kingdom to showcase British progressive rock groups, the label ceased releasing titles in 1976 and then re-emerged in the United States in 1986 to release the work of American punk, post-punk, and alternative rock bands. Caroline has or had a number of subsidiary labels including Astralwerks, Gyroscope, Caroline Blue Plate, Beat the World, Scamp, and Passenger.

Charisma Records was a British record label founded in 1969 by former journalist Tony Stratton-Smith. He had previously acted as manager for rock bands such as The Nice, the Bonzo Dog Band and Van der Graaf Generator. Gail Colson was label manager and joint managing director.

DJ International Records

D.J. International Records is a Chicago record label founded in 1985 that specializes in house music, a type of electronic dance music. In the 1980s, DJ International Records released music by key house innovators such as Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy, Hot Mix 5 member Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Steve “Silk” Hurley, and Marshall Jefferson. DJ International Records also released ESP’s song "It’s You", Dymond's "Wild About Your Love" and Liz Torres' "What You Make Me Feel". The label also had acid house, such as Adonis's 1987 "The Poke", and Tyree's "Acid Over" and there were late 1980s hip house recordings, too, such as Fast Eddie's "Hip House" and "Yo Yo Get Funky". In the early 1990s, the label released Mike Dunn's song "Jass Yo Azz Off". Udiscover Music called the "history of DJ International...the history of house music, the very DNA of modern dance music."

Fontana Distribution was a division of San Francisco-based Isolation Network. A minority stake of the company was owned by Universal Music until INgrooves acquired Fontana Distribution from UMG in 2012 to form INgrooves Fontana.

Carl Terrell Mitchell, better known mononymously as Twista, is an American rapper. He is best known for his chopper style of rapping and for once holding the title of fastest English rapper in the world according to Guinness World Records in 1992, being able to pronounce 598 syllables in 55 seconds.

Sir Lucian Charles Grainge is the chairman and chief executive officer of Universal Music Group. Over the course of his career, he has worked with artists including Lady Gaga, Amy Winehouse, ABBA, Eurythmics, Rihanna, Shawn Mendes, Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Take That, Psychedelic Furs, The Rolling Stones, Sting, Jamie Cullum and Andrea Bocelli. Grainge has worked in the music business for his entire career. Billboard magazine named Grainge as the most powerful person in the music business on four occasions in the 2010s, and the first-ever Executive of the Decade.

Imperial Records is an American record company and label started in 1947 by Lew Chudd. The label was reactivated in 2006 by EMI, which owned the label and back catalogue at the time. Imperial is owned by Universal Music Group.

Island Records is a British-Jamaican record label owned by Universal Music Group. It was founded in 1959 by Chris Blackwell, Graeme Goodall, and Leslie Kong in Jamaica, and was eventually sold to PolyGram in 1989. Island and A&M Records, another label recently acquired by PolyGram, were both at the time the largest independent record labels in history, with Island having exerted a major influence on the progressive music scene in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s. Lego Vidiyo is a Lego theme that allows children to create their own music videos and dance clips using a range of Lego toy sets and an associated app. It is licensed from Universal Music Group. The theme was first introduced in 2021, before being put on hiatus in late July 2021.

The company was formed following Universal Music Sweden's full ownership acquisition of Lionheart Music Group. The company consists of several record labels as well as operations in music production and publishing, artist management, and live-entertainment production.

Avery Lipman is an American music industry executive. He is the co-founder and current President and COO of Republic Records. Over the course of his career, he had been involved with numerous acts including 3 Doors Down, Ariana Grande, Godsmack, Jack Johnson, Julia Michaels, The Naked and Famous, Blue October, Post Malone, Phantogram and numerous others. He is the brother of fellow Republic co-founder and executive, Monte Lipman.

Monte Lipman is an American music industry executive and film producer. He is the founder and current CEO of Republic Records. Over the course of his career, he has worked with a wide range of artists, including James Blake, Drake, Florence + the Machine, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Amy Winehouse, Post Malone, The Weeknd, Pearl Jam, Jack Johnson, John Mellencamp, and numerous others. He is the brother of Avery Lipman.

Lost Highway Australia was launched in 2014 by Universal Music Australia as the Australian arm of the original Lost Highway Records, owned by Universal Music Group Nashville. Lost Highway Records was the home of Ryan Adams, Lucinda Williams, The Jayhawks, Whiskeytown, Lyle Lovett, Shelby Lynne, the soundtrack of O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Willie Nelson, Ryan Bingham, Johnny Cash and others. In 2005, Powderfinger’s Bernard Fanning became the first Australian to sign to Lost Highway in the USA.

Jeron C. Gibson, better known by his mononym Mr. Lucci or sometimes by Lu Diamond, is an American hip hop recording artist, actor and entrepreneur. In 2001, Mr. Lucci released his first album Diabolical, followed by My Life (2004), 100% Real (2007), 10th Anniversary (2010), V.V.S. (2011) and Certified 1ct (2012).

MCA Music Inc. is a Philippine regional branch of the multinational Universal Music Group. The company retains the MCA name on legal purposes because of a trademark dispute with an unrelated label known as Universal Records, which preempted the rights to the word "Universal" for recorded music in the Philippines. However, the company has adopted the moniker "MCA/Universal", just like the US home video unit of Universal Pictures from 1990-1997, to simplify identification, even though no formal "Universal" branding is exercised. Despite the naming, the label is known outside the Philippines as Universal Music Philippines.

TEN Music Group is a Swedish independent record label headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. The label was founded by Ola Håkansson in 2003.

Tooth & Nail Records is a Christian rock record label founded by Brandon Ebel in California in November 1993. The label later moved to Seattle, Washington where it is situated today. It is home to many well-known musical acts, including Underoath, Hawk Nelson, Emery, The Almost, FM Static, Family Force 5, Anberlin, and MxPx.

Uni Records was a record label owned by MCA Inc.. The brand, which long featured a distinctive UNi logo, was established in 1966 by MCA executive Ned Tanen and developed by music industry veteran Russ Regan. Notable artists on Uni included Strawberry Alarm Clock, the Foundations, Hugh Masekela, Brian Hyland, Desmond Dekker, Bill Cosby, Elton John, Neil Diamond, Dave and Ansil Collins, Fever Tree, Olivia Newton-John, Betty Everett, and the Factory. In 1967, Uni took over management of MCA's newly acquired Kapp Records. Uni also operated Revue Records, a soul music subsidiary, from about 1967 to 1970. In 1971 Uni was merged with Kapp and the co-owned American Decca Records, to form MCA Records. The Decca, Kapp, and Uni labels continued to be used for new releases for a short time, but in late 1972, new releases by their former artists began appearing on the MCA Records label; before long, their back catalogs were transferred to MCA as well. That year, Regan left MCA to revive 20th Century Records for 20th Century Fox.
