WOrnstein and Smough are a duo of interconnected characters from the action role-playing game Dark Souls. Independently known as Dragon Slayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough, they are mentioned in the lore of every series game, but are predominantly known for their appearance in an asymmetrical boss fight considered one of the game's most difficult. Ornstein being one of the Four Knights of Gwyn who formerly hunted dragons, and Smough an executioner of superhuman size, they were assigned to protect the Lordvessel from intruders and function as the final bosses of the Anor Londo level. The boss battle has been called one of the most memorable fights in gaming by critics, and has also become notorious for the variety of unusual control devices fans have used to beat it, such as voice commands.
WRevan is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. He was created for BioWare's 2003 role-playing video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, in which he is the playable protagonist. Players may choose Revan's gender, appearance, and what path he follows throughout the game, but canonically the character is male and follows the light side of the Force. Within the game's narrative, Revan is a former Jedi hero who lived during the Old Republic Era. After turning to the dark side and becoming a Sith Lord, he took on the name Darth Revan and formed a Sith Empire to conquer the galaxy, contending with the Republic's armies. During a battle, Revan was betrayed and left for dead by his friend and Sith Apprentice, Darth Malak, who sought to usurp him. Subsequently captured by the Jedi, Revan had his memory erased and was given a false identity, as part of the Jedi's plan to have Revan rejoin their ranks and help defeat Malak and his Empire. Revan's true identity isn't revealed to the player until later in the game, prior to which their custom character lacks any predefined identity and "Darth Revan" is believed to be dead.
