WImrich Andrejčák was a Czechoslovak-born Slovak army general and politician. He was the last Minister of Defence of Czechoslovakia from 2 July 1992 until 31 December 1992, with the dissolution of the country. Andrejčák the became the first Defence Minister of an independent Slovakia from 16 March 1993 and 14 March 1994.

WOn the night of 5 April 1944, Siegfried Lederer, a Czech Jew, escaped from the Auschwitz concentration camp wearing an SS uniform provided by SS-Rottenführer Viktor Pestek. Pestek opposed the Holocaust; he was a devout Catholic and was infatuated with Renée Neumann, a Jewish prisoner. He accompanied Lederer out of the camp, and the two men traveled together to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia to obtain false documents for Neumann and her mother.

WEmanuel Moravec was a Czech army officer and writer who served as the collaborationist Minister of Education of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia between 1942 and 1945. He was also chair of the Board of Trustees for the Education of Youth, a fascist youth organisation in the protectorate.
