Žďár nad Sázavou District is a district (okres) within the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. Its administrative center is the town of Žďár nad Sázavou.
The Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption and St. Nicholas has been since its foundation part of the Cistercian monastery in Žďár nad Sázavou. The Cistercian monastery existed after 1250 thanks to magnate of Křižanov whose name was Přibyslav. Early history of the monastery was described in Cronica domus Sarensis by monk Jindřich Řezbář. The chronicle was written in Latin and it is part of the top middle-age literature. The church was elevated to the honour of a Minor basilica on January 5, 2009.

The Oslava is a river in the Czech Republic, a left tributary of the Jihlava River. It originates in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands (Českomoravská vrchovina) at an elevation of 567 m and flows to Ivančice, where it enters the Jihlava River. It is 99.2 km long, and its basin area is 867 km2.

The Svratka, formerly Švarcava is a river in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It is 168 kilometres (104 mi) long, and its basin area is 7,116 square kilometres (2,748 sq mi). It rises in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, converges with the Svitava in Brno, and flows into the Dyje (Thaya) a near Mikulov. The river is known in the local Moravian dialect as the Švarcava.

Velké Dářko is the largest pond in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. Its surface area is about 2.06 km² at an elevation of 610 m. The pond is located 10 km from Žďár nad Sázavou.

FC Velké Meziříčí is a Czech football club located in Velké Meziříčí in the Vysočina Region. It currently plays in the Moravian–Silesian Football League, which is the third tier of Czech football.

SFK Vrchovina is a Czech football club located in the town of Nové Město na Moravě in the Vysočina Region. In the 2017–18 season the club was promoted from the Czech Fourth Division and currently plays in the Moravian–Silesian Football League, which is the third tier of the Czech football system.
