
Corneille Akilimali Bufole, better known as Cor Akim, is a Congolese singer, songwriter and pianist, born in Bukavu, capital of South Kivu Province in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

Baloji is a Belgian rapper, MC and hip hop artist of Congolese origin. Known as MC Balo in the hip hop group Starflam, he continued as solo artist starting 2004.

Innocent Balume, known by his stage name Innoss’B, is a Congolese singer-songwriter, rapper, percussionist, and dancer from Goma, Congo DRC. In addition to adapting modern styles like Afrobeats and hip-hop, Innoss'B is a skilled djembe player. Innoss'B was born to a musical family – his mother was a church singer, his father was a pop music dancer and he first performed with his brothers in the group Maisha Soul. They trained at Yolé!Africa, a youth cultural center in Goma founded in 2000 by internationally acclaimed filmmaker and activist Petna Ndaliko Katondolo. At the age of 12, he won the ‘Vodacom Super Star in DR Congo’ with more than 1.3 million votes throughout the country. He was also the first winner of the Vodacom Superstars, which brought him to the attention of actor and director Ben Affleck. In 2013 he was signed to a management contract with Interglobe Music. He has recorded and toured with Akon.

Fally Ipupa N'simba, known by his stage name Fally Ipupa, is a Congolese singer-songwriter, dancer, philanthropist, guitarist and producer. From 1999 until 2006, he was a member of Quartier Latin International, the music band formed in 1986 by Koffi Olomidé.

Icha Kavons Mundundu, known by his stage name Icha Kavons, is a DR Congolese singer-songwriter, dancer, drummer and producer. He won the 2015 All Africa Music (AFRIMA) award for Best Gospel Artist and the 2016 AFRIMA award for Male Artiste in African Inspirational for his song "Testimony".

Antoine Wendo Kolosoy, known as Papa Wendo, was a Congolese musician. He is considered the "Father" of Congolese rumba, also known as soukous, a musical style blending son cubano, beguine, waltz, tango and cha-cha.

Ngoy Lusungu Serge, better known as Serge Le Griot, is a Congolese slammer, poet, songwriter and blogger from North Kivu province.

Gael Kapia Mawete, known professionally as Gaz Mawete is a Congolese singer-songwriter and dancer originally from Democratic Republic of the Congo he's also known for his song "Olingi Nini" that went viral on YouTube with over 5 million views.

Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba, known professionally as Koffi Olomidé, is a Congolese Soukus singer, dancer, producer, and composer. He has had several gold records in his career. He is the founder of the Quartier Latin International orchestra with many notable artists, including Fally Ipupa and Ferré Gola.

Pascal-Emmanuel Sinamoyi Tabu, better known as Tabu Ley Rochereau, was a leading African rumba singer-songwriter from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He was the leader of Orchestre Afrisa International, as well as one of Africa's most influential vocalists and prolific songwriters. Along with guitarist Dr Nico Kasanda, Tabu Ley pioneered soukous and internationalised his music by fusing elements of Congolese folk music with Cuban, Caribbean and Latin American rumba. He has been described as "the Congolese personality who, along with Mobutu, marked Africa's 20th century history." He was dubbed "the African Elvis" by the Los Angeles Times. After the fall of the Mobutu regime, Tabu Ley also pursued a political career. His musical career ran parallel to the other great Congolese rhumba bandleader and rival Franco Luambo Makiadi who ran the band TPOK Jazz throughout the 1960s, 1970s and '80s.
