The British Labour Party grew out of the trade union movement of the late 19th century and surpassed the Liberal Party as the main opposition to the Conservatives in the early 1920s. In the 1930s and 1940s, it stressed national planning, using nationalization of industry as a tool, in line with Clause IV of the original constitution of the Labour Party which called for the "common ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange, and the best obtainable system of popular administration and control of each industry or service".

One Nation Labour refers to the theme and branding of the British Labour Party adopted by the party in 2012 under the leadership of Ed Miliband. Miliband described the "One Nation" term as being related to British Conservative Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli's idea of One Nation conservatism. Disraeli claimed a need for government to reduce economic inequality, which he believed was splitting Britain into two nations of rich and poor people. Miliband stated that the theme of One Nation was shared by Labour Prime Minister Clement Attlee. Miliband has declared inspiration from Disraeli's and Attlee's One Nation theme, in that it challenges social barriers of class and promotes the unity of Britain.

"The Red Flag" is a socialist song, emphasising the sacrifices and solidarity of the international labour movement. It is the anthem of the British Labour Party, Irish nationalist Social Democratic and Labour Party, and Irish Labour Party. The song is traditionally sung at the close of each party's national conference.

In British politics, the Shadow Minister for Peace and Disarmament is a position within the opposition that deals with issues surrounding North Africa, the Middle East, North Korea and policy on nuclear weapons. The incumbent is Fabian Hamilton. The position was created by Jeremy Corbyn and has no equivalent in Her Majesty's Government.

Trimdon Labour Club was a bar and local branch of Sedgefield Labour Party in the village of Trimdon, County Durham in England. It opened in 1993, as a conversion of a former Working Men's Club. It was the local Labour Club of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who lived in nearby Trimdon Colliery.
