An early translation of one of his writings into English was The Cleaning and Sewerage of Cities published in New York in 1891.
WAn Bord Pleanála (ABP) is an independent, statutory, quasi-judicial body that decides on appeals from planning decisions made by local authorities in the Republic of Ireland. As of 2007, An Bord Pleanála directly decided major strategic infrastructural projects under the provisions of the Planning and Development Act 2006. The practice has been used by property owners as a means of sidestepping historic preservation laws by providing justification for the demolition of historical buildings.
