The 2011 Asia Game Show was held from December 23 to December 26, and it broke previous attendance records with over 450,000 visitors.

BlizzCon is an annual gaming convention held by Blizzard Entertainment to promote its major franchises including Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, and Overwatch. The first BlizzCon was held in October 2005, and since then, all of the conventions have been held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, in the same metropolitan area as Blizzard's headquarters in Irvine. The convention features game-related announcements, previews of upcoming Blizzard Entertainment games and content, Q&A sessions and panels, costume contests, and playable versions of various Blizzard games. The closing night has featured concerts by The Offspring, Tenacious D, Foo Fighters, Ozzy Osbourne, Blink-182, Metallica, Linkin Park, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and Muse. A similar event was the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational, held outside the U.S. from 2004 to 2008.

Games Day is a yearly run gaming convention sponsored by Games Workshop. It was started in 1975, after another games convention scheduled for August that year cancelled. Games Workshop decided to fill the resulting gap by running a gaming day of their own. As a result, after some delays, the first Games Day was held at Seymour Hall, London on 20 December 1975. The convention was important because there were few outlets for gamers to meet each other and play, and Games Workshop used this in their efforts to build the gaming scene in the U.K.

The Russian Game Developers' Conference, or KRI, was an annual event for industry professionals devoted to game development, publishing and distribution in Russia and surrounding territories. The show also featured the presentation of the annual KRI awards, a professional game awards. Attendance at KRI was relatively compared with some of the better-known game developer conferences abroad. However, this was mainly attributed to the population densities in the enormous geographic range that the conference covered and the difficulties in transportation. Back then Russian distribution video game networks were often plagued by software pirates. Due to the spread of digital distribution and the adoption Russian anti-piracy legislation, KRI grew each year, having been able to provide accommodation for attendants from afar. KRI also helped to establish and entrench various anti-piracy measures.

The convention is organized by Twitch and its main focus is centered around the culture of video game streaming and video gaming in general. It also provides fans with a unique chance to meet streamers, discover new products, play new games, and meet with online communities in real life. The first convention was held in 2015. Before 2019, they were all held at various convention centers in California until the first TwitchCon Europe in 2019, which took place in Berlin. The most recent convention was held on September 27–29, 2019 at the San Diego Convention Center. TwitchCon is hosted twice a year, once in North America, as a three-day-long event, and once in Europe, as a two-day-long event.
