WMaleyka Mehdi qizi Abbaszadeh is the Chair of the State Students Admission Commission of Azerbaijan.
WGular Mikayil qizi Ahmadova, née Aliyeva, is a retired Azerbaijani politician, former member of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan and former member of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party. She gained notoriety in 2012 after a video shot on a hidden camera was released, featuring Ahmadova negotiating a bribe sum with lawyer and fellow party member Elshad Abdullayev to help arrange, among other things, his election to the Azerbaijani parliament. The corruption scandal which ensued became known as Gulargate and led to Ahmadova's stepping down as an MP and later arrest and expulsion from the party. She was sentenced to three years in prison for embezzlement and failure to report a grave offence, but her prison term was suspended 14 months into the sentence.
WJalal Eyvaz oglu Allakhverdiyev was an Azerbaijani mathematician, and a corresponding member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, beginning in 1972 when it was the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic. On February 12, 1982 he was awarded the State Prize laureate of the Azerbaijan SSR. In 1970 he became the director of the Institute of Cybernetics of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan SSR. He died in 2017.

He is a Full Professor at Baku State University.

WAkif Jafar Hajiyev was an Azerbaijani mathematician. He served as the vice-president of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences from 2013 until his death. From 2004 to 2013, he was the director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of National Academy of Sciences. He authored four books, in addition to numerous papers. By presidential decree, he was awarded the "Order of Glory" in 2004 and "Honored Worker of Science" in 2005.
WVagif Rza Ibrahimov is an Azerbaijani mathematician and professor. He is a corresponding member of ANAS and an organizer and a participant of numerous conferences. He has published more than 102 articles abroad. He is a professor at Baku State University.
WArif Salimov is an Azerbaijani/Soviet mathematician, Honored Scientist of Azerbaijan, known for his research in differential geometry. He obtained a B.Sc. degree from Baku State University, Azerbaijan in 1978, a PhD and Doctor of Sciences (Habilitation) degrees in geometry from Kazan State University, Russia in 1984 and 1998, respectively. His advisor was Vladimir Vishnevskii. Salimov is currently full professor in the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at the Baku State University and head of the department Algebra and Geometry at this University. He is an author and co-author of more than 100 articles. WIsmixan Mahammad oghlu Yusubov is an Azerbaijani mathematician and writer-publicist.
