He simultaneously served as minister of the interior in the Government of Peru. He was Minister of Finance from 1900 to 1901. He was President of the Supreme Court of Peru (1914–1916). He died in Lima, Peru.

Ismael Benavides Ferreyros is a Peruvian politician, who was the former Minister of Economy and Finance that was under President Alan García from September 2010 to July 2011. He was also Minister of Agriculture from 2007 to 2008. He was also a member of the lower house of the Congress of the Republic of Peru, representing Ica under the FREDEMO coalition, which grouped the Popular Action Party from 1990 to 1992, in which President Alberto Fujimori dissolved the Congress in a self-coup. He was also the Minister of Fishery under the second administration of President Fernando Belaúnde Terry.

Nicanor Carmona (1842–1940) was a Peruvian politician. He was Minister of Finance in 1894. He was twice the mayor of Lima, first from 1910 to 1913, and second from 1915 to 1916. He was president of the President of the Senate from 1914 to 1915.

Luis Julián Martín Carranza Ugarte is a Peruvian economist, banker and academic. He served as Minister of Economy and Finance of Peru in the second presidency of Alan García, from July 2006 to July 2008 and from January to December 2009. During his first tenure, he championed several structural economic reforms that proved extremely successful. Peru achieved their highest continued average growth rates in recent history, the FTA with the USA was signed, technology and productivity gains in the country were the highest ever in recorded Peruvian history, and poverty dropped dramatically. He was re-appointed on January 2009, with the looming global financial crisis. Before being appointed Minister, Carranza was BBVA chief economist for Latin American and emerging markets.

Manuel Melitón Carvajal Ambulodegui, was a Peruvian naval commander and government official who was part of the crew of the ironclad Huáscar during the War of the Pacific. He was wounded and taken prisoner at the Battle of Angamos and became a national hero. He later held numerous government posts and supervised the buildup of the Peruvian Navy. Melitón Carvajal National College, located in Lince District, was named in his honor.

Later, he led the country when the economy boomed due to the exploitation of guano deposits. Castilla's governments are remembered for having abolished slavery and modernized the state.

Marco Aurelio Denegri Valega (1840–1909) was a Prime Minister of Peru under Andrés Avelino Cáceres in 1881. He was the mayor of Lima 1874–1875. He was Minister of Finance in 1879 and from 1881 to 1883. He served as the second vice president from 1886 to 1890.

Domingo Elías Carbajo served as Interim President of Peru for a brief period between June and August 1844.

Luis Gallo Porras, was a Peruvian politician from the early 1930s to the late 1950s. He was the mayor of Lima three times, first from 1934 to 1937, second from 1941 to 1945, and third from 1948 to 1949. From 1958 to 1959 he served as Prime Minister of Peru under Manuel Prado Ugarteche. He was minister of economy and finance from 1958 to 1959. He served as the first vice president from 1956 to 1962.

Francisco García Calderón Landa was a lawyer and Provisional President of the Republic of Peru for a short seven-month period in 1881, during the War of the Pacific. García Calderón was a key figure in the final peace accords between Peru and Chile. Later in post-presidential career, in 1892, he was commissioned to arbitrate land disputes between Peru and Ecuador, which centered on the contested provinces of Mainas, Jaén and Tumbes. He was an academic as well, having authored a comprehensive history of the previously-mentioned contested provinces, as well as a monograph on Peruvian legislation titled, Diccionario de la Legislación Peruana.

He was a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Peru and Senate of Peru. He served as minister of foreign affairs and economy and finance (1886-1887) in the Government of Peru. He was three times Prime Minister of Peru. He served as the President of the Senate from 1905 to 1906.

Pedro Pablo Kuczynski Godard, also known simply as PPK, is a Peruvian economist, politician and public administrator who served as President of Peru from 2016 to 2018. He served as the Prime Minister of Peru and Minister of Economy and Finance during the presidency of Alejandro Toledo. Kuczynski resigned from the presidency on 23 March 2018, following a successful impeachment vote and days before a probable conviction vote. Since 10 April 2019 he has been in pretrial detention, due to an ongoing investigation on corruption, money laundering, and connections to Odebrecht, a public works company accused of paying bribes.

Roque Augusto Saldías Maninat was a Venezuelan-born Peruvian admiral and politician. He was born in Valencia, Carabobo, Venezuela. He returned to Peru with his family in 1895. In 1908, he enrolled at the Naval Academy of Peru and graduated in 1912. He went to France on the cruiser Comandante Aguirre and returned to Peru in 1915. He later served on the cruiser Almirante Grau. He was minister of health (1936–1937), navy and aviation (1937–1939), navy (1948–1955) and economy and finance in the Government of Peru. He served under Presidents Óscar Benavides, José Bustamante y Rivero and Manuel A. Odría. He eventually rose to the rank of vice admiral in the Peruvian Navy.

Francisco Morales Bermúdez Cerruti is a Peruvian politician and general who was the de facto President of Peru between 1975 and 1980, after deposing his predecessor, General Juan Velasco. His grandfather and all his original family were from the old Peruvian department of Tarapacá, which is now part of Chile. Unable to control the political and economic troubles that the nation faced, he was forced to return power to civilian rule, marking the end of the Revolutionary Government of the Armed Forces installed by a coup d'etat on 3 October 1968.

Jose Nicolás Baltasar Fernández de Piérola y Villena was a Peruvian politician and Minister of Finance who served as the 23rd and 31st President of the Republic of Peru, from 1879 to 1881 and 1895 to 1899.

José Faustino Sánchez Carrión, was a pro-independence politician from Peru. Also known as the "Solitario de Sayán", he had a decisive role in the establishment of the republican system of government in post-independence Peru. He was one of the writers of the first political constitution of Peru, of liberal tendencies. He later participated in the diplomatic mission which traveled to Guayaquil to invite Simon Bolivar to Peru. He died prematurely, victim of an unknown sickness.

Alfredo Solf y Muro was a Peruvian politician. He was Minister of Finance in 1933. He was the Prime Minister of Peru from 8 December 1939 until 3 December 1944. Solf y Muro also served as foreign minister.

He served in the Chamber of Deputies of Peru and was its president from 1899 to 1900. He also served in the Senate of Peru. He served as minister of justice, interior and minister of economy and finance in the Government of Peru. He was twice Prime Minister of Peru. He died in Nice, France.

José Hipólito Unanue y Pavón was a physician, naturalist, meteorologist, cosmographer, the first Minister of Finance of Peru, Minister of Foreign affairs, Protomédico, university professor, founder of the San Fernando Medical School, representative of Arequipa in the Cortes of Cádiz, President of the Junta de Gobierno, Protector of the province of Arequipa, independence precursor and a Peruvian politician, active in politics in the early years after independence. He served as the President of the Congress from 1822 to 1823.

Fernando Martín Zavala Lombardi is a Peruvian politician, who was the Prime Minister of Peru from 28 July 2016 to 17 September 2017. Previously he was the President of Backus and Johnston, a subsidiary of SABMiller. From 2005 to 2006 he was Minister of Economy and Finance.
