Spiro Risto Dine (1846–1922) was an Albanian rilindas, writer and playwright. His most known work "Waves of the Sea" was at the time of its publication the longest book printed in Albanian.

He focused on poetry until the publication of his first novel, The General of the Dead Army, which made him a leading literary figure in Albania and famous internationally. In 1996, France made him a foreign associate of the Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques of France.

Ernest Koliqi was an Albanian journalist, politician, translator, teacher and writer. Along with Mitrush Kuteli he is considered as the founder of modern Albanian prose commonly known by the pen names Borizani, Hilushi or Hilush Vilza.

Girolamo de Rada was an Arbëreshë folklorist, journalist, lawyer, playwright, poet, rilindas and writer. He is regarded as one of the most influential Albanian writers of the 19th century who played an essential role in the Albanian Renaissance.

Kadrush Radogoshi is an Albanian poet, novelist, play-writer, and literary critic from Kosovo. He is a dissident who opposed the revocation of the autonomy of Kosovo from the Milosevic's regime, consequently being arrested and imprisoned. Radogoshi served as President of Writers' Union of Kosovo. In 2010 he settled in Canada.

Urani Rumbo was an Albanian feminist, teacher and playwright. She founded various associations promoting Albanian women's rights, the most important of which was the Lidhja e Gruas, one of the first prominent feminist organizations of Albania.
