Sitaram Agrahari is a Nepalese journalist, poet and editor-in-chief of Gorkhapatra, Nepal's oldest daily newspaper. He received Rajarshi Janak Award in 2011 for his contribution in Hindi poetry and fiction.

Chittadhar Hridaya was a Nepalese poet. He is regarded as one of the greatest literary figures from Nepal in the 20th century.

Girija Prasad Joshi" महाकबि " (1939–1987) was a versatile Nepalese poet who set a new trend in Nepal Bhasa literature. His poems, epics, plays and novels broke tradition and crossed conventional boundaries. He has been honored with the title Great Poet.

Prem Bahadur Kansakar (1918–1991) was a Nepalese fighter for democracy and linguistic rights, author and scholar of Nepal Bhasa. His main contributions were promoting Nepal Bhasa mainly by collecting and preserving ancient manuscripts. He was the founder of Asa Archives, the only public archive in Nepal.

Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala was a Nepali politician and a prolific writer. He was the Prime Minister of Nepal from 1959 to 1960. He led the Nepali Congress, a social democratic political party.

Siddhidas Mahaju was a Nepalese poet and one of the Four Pillars of Nepal Bhasa. He was at the forefront in the endeavour to revive literature in Nepal Bhasa that had become stagnant as a result of official suppression. He has been honored with the title Great Poet.

Guru Prasad Mainali (1900–1971) was a Nepali short story writer. Mainali is the pioneer and one of the well-known short story writers of Nepali literature. He is famous for his short story anthology 'Naaso'.

Parijat was a Nepalese writer. Her real name was Bishnu Kumari Waiba but she wrote under the pen name Parijat. Her most acclaimed publication is Shiris Ko Phool, which has also been adapted in the literature curriculum of some colleges in some English-speaking countries like United States, England etc. Some of the notable universities where Parijat's Shirish Ko Phool was adopted as curriculum in the University of Maryland, USA.

Rebati Ramanananda Shrestha (1932–2002) was a Nepalese freedom fighter, journalist and Nepal Bhasa author. He also wrote under the pen name R. R. N. Syasya. His works range from poems and epics to essays and short stories. He has written books on history, language, culture and religion.

Geeta Tripathee is a Nepali poet, lyricist, essayist, literary critic and scholar. An eminent writer in Nepali, Geeta Tripathee has two volumes of poetry collection, one of lyrical poems and seven books in other literary genre to her credit. She also writes for newspapers on issues concerning women, environment and societal injustice.

Moti Laxmi Upasika was Nepal's first woman poet and short story writer of modern times. Her first work, a short story, was published in 1935.
