
Kamyar Abdi is an Iranian archaeologist. He is the editor of the Iranian Journal of Archaeology and History, a Research Associate at the Iranian Center for Research on Humanities and Cultural Studies, and professor at Department of Archaeology at Shiraz University. He is the deputy director of the National Museum of Iran.

Abbas Alizadeh received his B.A. in art and archaeology of ancient Iran from the Department of Archaeology of Tehran University in 1975, and his M.A. in 1982 from the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations of the University of Chicago. In 1988 he received his Ph.D. with high honors from the same department. The title of his doctoral thesis is “Mobile Pastoralism and the Development of Complex societies in Highland Iran.” In the following year, his thesis won the Best Dissertation Award from the Center for Iranian Studies. In 2012 his 2006 book The Origins of State Organizations in Prehistoric Highland Fars won the
Abdul Majid Arfaee is an Iranian researcher and Elamitologist. He has finished translating 647 tablets, related to the era of Darius the Great, which were read by Richard Hallock. The works are included in the first volume of the series.

Massoud Azarnoush was an Iranian archaeologist.

Fereidoun Biglari is an Iranian archaeologist and a museum curator.

Seifollah Kambakhshfard was an Iranian archaeologist, who specialized in archaeology and Ancient History of Iran.

Marjan Mashkour received her Ph.D. in zooarchaeology in Paris (2001) and is a member of CNRS. She is the first Iranian to specialize in the field of zooarchaeology and has been engaged in many field and laboratory projects in Iran and the Near East.

Jebrael Nokandeh is an Iranian archaeologist. He is director of National Museum of Iran.

Shahrokh Razmjou is an Iranian archaeologist and historian, specializing in Achaemenid Archaeology and History. He received his PhD in Achaemenid Archaeology at the University of London. He established the Inscriptions Hall (1998-9) and the Centre for Achaemenid Studies (2001) at the National Museum of Iran. He was curator of Ancient Iran in the Department of the Middle East, British Museum (2009-2012) and during this time, he produced a new updated translation of the text on the Cyrus Cylinder from Babylonian to Persian. He also excavated the ancient man-made caves of Niyasar, Kashan. He is currently teaching at the Department of Archaeology, University of Tehran.

Sadegh Malek Shahmirzadi was an Iranian archaeologist and anthropologist.

Alireza Shapour Shahbazi was a prominent Persian archeologist, Iranologist and a world expert on Achaemenid archeology. Shahbazi got a BA degree in and an MA degree in East Asian archeology from SOAS. Shahbazi had a doctorate degree in Achaemenid archeology from University of London. Alireza Shapour Shahbazi was a lecturer in Achaemenid archeology and Iranology at Harvard University. He was also a full professor of Archeology at Shiraz University and founded at Persepolis the Institute of Achaemenid Research in 1974. After the Islamic revolution, he moved to the USA, firstly teaching at Columbia University and then later becoming a full professor of history in Eastern Oregon University.

Parviz Varjavand was a notable Iranian archaeologist, researcher, university professor and politician who was a prominent member of Iran National Front.

Abdolrasool Vatandoust Haghighi was born in Isfahan, Iran, on July 17, 1947.
