
Bhanubhakta Acharya was a Nepali poet, translator and writer. He was the first writer to translate the great epic Ramayana from Sanskrit to Nepali. Despite having other contemporary poets in the country during his time, he is revered and honoured with the title of Aadikavi of the Nepali language. His poems were later published by famous poet Motiram Bhatta.

Kshetra Pratap Adhikary was a Nepali poet, writer and lyricist. Adhikari is best known as the lyricist of the song Ma Ta Laligurans Bhayechu by Narayan Gopal. Renowned singers of both the past and present generations, including Narayan Gopal, Bacchu Kailash, Ram Krishna Dhakal, Yogeshwar Amatya, Satya Raj Acharya, Kunti Moktan and Swaroop Raj Acharya have lent their voices to Adhikari's songs. Some of his popular publications are Rahar Lagera, Pahad Dekhi Pahad Samma, Feri Euta Pariwartan, Tara Desh Rahirahecha etc.

Pawan Kumar Chamling is an Indian politician and the former Chief Minister of Sikkim. Chamling is the Founder and President of the Sikkim Democratic Front, which governed the state for five successive terms since 1994.

Aishwarya Rajya Lakshmi Devi Shah was the Queen of Nepal from 1972 to 2001, also referred as Bada Maharani बडामहारानी. She was the wife of King Birendra and the mother of Crown Prince Dipendra, Prince Nirajan, and Princess Shruti. She was the eldest among the three daughters of late General Kendra Shumsher Jang Bahadur Rana and Shree Rajya Lakshmi Devi Shah in Lazimpat Durbar, Lazimpat, Kathmandu.

Laxmi Prasad Devkota was a Nepali poet, playwright, and novelist. Honored with the title of Mahakavi in Nepali literature, he was known as a poet with a golden heart. He is considered to be the greatest and most famous literary figure in Nepal. Some of his popular works include the best selling Muna Madan, along with Sulochana, Kunjini, Bhikhari, and Shakuntala.
Tulsi Prasad Joshi is a Nepalese literary figure and folklore expert. He is a prominent name in modern Nepali poetry. He was honoured with the title Bisista Sahitya Siromani at the International Poetry Festival in India in April 2013.

Chhanda kavi Kul Bahadur K.C. is one of the most significant Nepali poets. He is known for his well-rhymed poems that related to the social and economic problems of the common people who form the vast majority of the population in Nepal. He believed that the problems of the poor and the neediest had to be addressed at first so that they would be able to contribute to the sustained economic growth and the development of the country in the long run. He is known for his works "Mero Maato(मेरो माटो) from (Bijay Unmukh Achhyarharoo ", "Mutuka Jhilka ", "Garib Ustai Chha ", "Ashauch Bardaichhan Kabitaharoo ". Ramesh Kshitij ; Salyan, Western Nepal) is a versatile poet, lyricist and a writer. He is best known for the poetry, he has also written stories and songs.[2]

Parijat was a Nepalese writer. Her real name was Bishnu Kumari Waiba but she wrote under the pen name Parijat. Her most acclaimed publication is Shiris Ko Phool, which has also been adapted in the literature curriculum of some colleges in some English-speaking countries like United States, England etc. Some of the notable universities where Parijat's Shirish Ko Phool was adopted as curriculum in the University of Maryland, USA.

Lekhnath Paudyal is regarded as the founding father of modern Nepali poetry literature in the twentieth-century. His most important contribution is believed to be to the enrichment and refinement of the language rather than to its philosophical breadth. The best of Lekhnath's poems adhered to the old-fashioned conventions of Sanskrit poetics (kavya). Lekhnath, the first modern Nepali poet, wrote in the classical style of Nepali poetry. His poems possessed a formal dignity that had been lacking in most earlier works in Nepali; many of them confirmed in their outlook with the philosophy of orthodox Vedanta, although others were essentially original in their tone and inspiration. His poems are very much popular, and often mentioned contemporary social and political issues. It is believed there were the first glimmerings of the poetic spirit that was to come after him.

Suman Pokhrel is a Nepali poet, lyricist, playwright, translator and artist. His poetry is also included in the syllabus of universities.

Agam Singh Giri was an Indian Nepali poet and lyricist from Darjeeling, India.

Yuyutsu R.D. Sharma is a Nepalese-Indian poet and journalist. He was born at Nakodar, Punjab and moved to Nepal at an early age. He writes in English and Nepali.

Abhi Subedi is a Nepali poet, playwright, linguist, columnist, translator and critic, who writes in Nepali and English.

Bhim Nidhi Tiwari(Nepali: भीमनिधि तिवारी) (1911–1973) was a leading Nepali poet, novelist and playwright. He was a well-known poet of the post-1950s era and was a firm believer in social reforms and wrote against smoking, drinking, and gambling. He published over 38 works in various styles.

Geeta Tripathee is a Nepali poet, lyricist, essayist, literary critic and scholar. An eminent writer in Nepali, Geeta Tripathee has two volumes of poetry collection, one of lyrical poems and seven books in other literary genre to her credit. She also writes for newspapers on issues concerning women, environment and societal injustice.
