
The J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings OST is the soundtrack to Ralph Bakshi's animated film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, featuring music composed by Leonard Rosenman. It was issued as a double-LP in 1978. In 2001, the album was reissued on CD, with bonus tracks. The album reached #33 in the Canadian RPM Magazine album charts, February 24, 1979.

"Into the West" is a song performed by Annie Lennox, and the end-credit song of the 2003 film The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. It is written by Lennox, Return of the King producer and co-writer Fran Walsh, and composed and co-written by the film's composer Howard Shore. The song plays in full during the closing credits of Return of the King, although instrumental music from the song plays at other points during the film itself.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack was released on 20 November 2001. It was composed, orchestrated, and conducted by Howard Shore, and performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the London Voices, London Oratory School Schola choir and multiple featured instrumental and vocal soloists.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King was released on 25 November 2003. It was composed, orchestrated, and conducted by Howard Shore, and performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Voices, and the London Oratory School Schola. The limited edition contains a bonus DVD with the track "Use Well the Days" by Annie Lennox, song texts, photo gallery, and the LOTR trilogy supertrailer.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack was released on 10 December 2002. It was composed, orchestrated, and conducted by Howard Shore, and performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Voices, and the London Oratory School Schola. The Two Towers comes in a regular and a limited edition, the latter containing the additional track "Farewell to Lórien".

"May It Be" is a song by Irish recording artist Enya. It was composed by Enya and Roma Ryan for Peter Jackson's 2001 film The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. The song entered the German Singles Chart at number one in 2002 and was performed by Enya at the 74th Academy Awards. "May It Be" was acclaimed by music critics and received nominations for Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, Academy Award for Best Original Song and Grammy Award nomination for Best Song Written for Visual Media.
