
Sohrab Ahmari is an Iranian-American columnist, editor, and author of nonfiction books. He is currently the op-ed editor of the New York Post, a contributing editor of The Catholic Herald, and a columnist for First Things. Previously, he served as a columnist and editor with The Wall Street Journal opinion pages in New York and London, and as a senior writer at Commentary.

Behrouz Boochani is a Kurdish-Iranian journalist, human rights defender, writer and film producer. He was born in western Iran. He was held in the Australian-run Manus Island detention centre in Papua New Guinea from 2013 until its closure in 2017. He remained on the island before being moved to Port Moresby along with the other detainees around September 2019. On 14 November 2019 he arrived in Christchurch, New Zealand on a one-month visa, to speak at a special event organised by WORD Christchurch on 29 November, as well as other speaking events. In December 2019, his one month visa to New Zealand expired. It has been confirmed that Boochani has not left New Zealand, and remained on an expired visa until being granted refugee status in July 2020. As of July 2020, Boochani is to become a Senior Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Canterbury.

In his youth, he traveled on foot along the coasts of the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea and began mapping and documenting their topography.

Jafar Panâhi is an Iranian film director, screenwriter, and film editor, commonly associated with the Iranian New Wave film movement. After several years of making short films and working as an assistant director for fellow Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami, Panahi achieved international recognition with his feature film debut, The White Balloon (1995). The film won the Caméra d'Or at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival, the first major award an Iranian film won at Cannes.

She entered cinema in 2002 by playing in Nan va eshgh va motor 1000 movie. Rima Raminfar is married to Amir Jafari, who is an Iranian actor, and they have one son.
