Brothers Zubalashvili

Brothers Zubalashvili — a family of businessmen and benefactors. The Zubalashvili family gained prominence in the seventeenth century and established themselves as successful merchants conducting business throughout Asia and Europe. They helped Kings Vakhtang VI and Erekle II establish printing presses in Tbilisi in the 18th century. After the Russian annexation of Georgia, the Zubalashvilis developed a profitable trade network that covered Russia, the Ottoman Empire, India, and Persia. In the mid-19th century, they also began establishing the first industrial plants in Georgia.

Nino Nakashidze (13 January 1872 — 2 July 1963) was a Georgian writer. She was primarily known for her writings involving children and their treatment in what she viewed as a flawed system. She was also a political activist and took part in the Revolution of 1905 and subsequent upheavals, which earned her a brief exile in 1908 to the Vyatka Governorate. It is in this time period that she wrote some of her more somber titles, such as "Execution of Aspiroz"(ასპიროზის დახვრეტ) and a play "Who is Guilty"(ვინ არის დამნაშავე).

John Malchase David Shalikashvili was a United States Army general who served as Supreme Allied Commander Europe from 1992 to 1993 and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1993 to 1997. He was born in Warsaw, Poland, in the family of émigré Georgian officer Dimitri Shalikashvili and his Polish wife Maria Rüdiger-Belyaeva. In 1996, he was the first recipient of the Naval War College Distinguished Graduate Leadership Award.
