The King's Guard is a ceremonial designation given by the Monarchy of Thailand to the various units within the Royal Thai Armed Forces. Practical and real security of the Royal family has since 1992 been provided by the Royal Security Command, which is an agency that is completely independent of the armed forces.

The 1st Division, King's Guard is an infantry division of the Royal Thai Army, it is currently a part of the First Army Area. King Chulalongkorn founded the division in 1905. The Royal Command of King Bhumibol Adulyadej designated the division as a King's Guard unit in 1973.

The 1st Field Artillery Regiment, King's Guard is an Artillery Regiment of the Royal Thai Army, it is currently a part of the 1st Infantry Division, King's Guard. The unit is composed of the 1st Field Artillery Battalion, 11th Field Artillery Battalion and 31st Field Artillery Battalion.

The 1st Infantry Regiment, King's Close Bodyguard is a King's Guard regiment under the 1st Infantry Division, King's Guard of the Royal Thai Army. The regiment is divided into three battalions, all of them based in Bangkok. The regiment is the only unit of the Royal Thai Armed Forces with the designation Mahat Lek Rajawallop ; meaning the king's close bodyguards, translated as the King's Own Bodyguards. The unit was first established by King Chulalongkorn in 1859, whilst he was still a young prince. One of the primary role of the regiment is to provide security and protection to members of the Thai Royal Family as well as the ceremonial escort and guarding of the royal palaces. The unit is the oldest regiment of the Thai army.

The 2nd Infantry Division, Queen Sirikit's Guard also known as Mechanized Infantry Division is an Mechanized infantry division of the Royal Thai Army. It is currently part of the First Army Area. The division was founded by King Chulalongkorn in 1910. In 1988 the division was designated a King's Guard unit by cabinet order, however, as a mark of distinction the division and all its subsidiary units were put under the patronage of Queen Sirikit and has since been known as the Queen's Guard.

The 11th Infantry Regiment, King's Close Bodyguard is a King's Guard regiment under the 1st Infantry Division, King's Guard of the Royal Thai Army. The regiment is divided into three battalions, all of them based in Bangkok. Formerly having a duty to guard the palace in the reign of King Mongkut to practice military subjects in order to perform effective and set up a Royal Palace Guard Regiment or the army surrounded the palace with the blue uniform is likely to come from the color of Krom Wang uniforms. The reign of King Chulalongkorn please King Vajiravudh, when he was the Siamese Crown Prince as a special colonel of the regiment which makes the unit have a bond with King Vajiravudh. Later, when King Vajiravudh ascended the throne he waas accepted as a special commander of the Regiment which His Majesty's color is blue.

The 21st Infantry Regiment, Queen Sirikit's Guard is a King's Guard regiment under the 2nd Infantry Division, Queen Sirikit's Guard of the Royal Thai Army. The regiment was created in 1950. It is known as the Queen's Guard or Thahan Suea Rachini. It is sometimes referred to as the "Eastern Tigers". The regiment is based in Chonburi.

The 30th Cavalry Squadron, 2nd Infantry Division, Queen Sirikit's Guard is an King's Guard Mechanized infantry and Armour Squadron of the Royal Thai Army, it is currently a part of the 2nd Infantry Division, Queen Sirikit's Guard.

The 31st Infantry Regiment, King Bhumibol's Guard is a King's Guard regiment of the 1st Infantry Division, King's Guard of the Royal Thai Army. The regiment was created in 1955. The regiment, despite being designated an infantry regiment is in fact a rapid deployment force unit. The regiment is based in Lopburi. The regiment was honoured with the additional title of 'King Bhumibol Adulyadej's Guards'.

The Krom Klone were the all-female bodyguard of the King of Siam. They were established in 1688 and were a well-disciplined force, responsible for the security of the royal family and the maintenance of order within the palace grounds.
