From 1991–1993, he served as the United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee. On December 12, 2008, Bryant was sworn in as a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Western District of Tennessee. He retired from this position on February 28, 2019.

By federal statute, he served as the legal adviser to the Secretary of the Air Force, the Air Force Chief of Staff, and all officers subordinate to them.

Brigadier General Thomas Hemingway is an American military lawyer who has served as a legal advisor to the Office of Military Commissions. Thomas Hemingway was a distinguished graduate of the Air Force ROTC program, was commissioned as a second lieutenant in November 1962 after earning his undergraduate degree at Willamette University. Upon graduation, he took an educational delay and earned his doctor of jurisprudence in 1965 at Willamette University College of Law. Hemingway entered active service in November 1965. He has also been an associate professor of law at the United States Air Force Academy and a senior judge on the Air Force Court of Military Review. He is a current member of the state bar in Oregon and the District of Columbia, and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. He retired from active service in October 1996. General Hemingway was recalled to active service in August 2003 to fill the position as Legal Adviser to the Convening Authority in the Department of Defense Office of Military Commissions, Washington, D.C. General. He was replaced by Thomas W. Hartmann in July 2007.

Frederick Joseph Kenney, Jr. is a retired American Rear Admiral who was formally the Judge Advocate General of the United States Coast Guard, the highest-ranking attorney in the Coast Guard. In that role, he was responsible for over 180 uniformed and 90 civilian lawyers. He is currently the Director, Legal and External Affairs at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), London, United Kingdom.

William "Bill" C. Kuebler was an American lawyer and a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps, assigned to the U.S. Navy Office of the Judge Advocate General, International and Operational Law Division. Kuebler was previously assigned to the Office of Military Commissions. Prior to the decision of the United States Supreme Court in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, to overturn the then current version of the Guantanamo military commissions on constitutional grounds, Kuebler was detailed to defend Ghassan Abdullah al Sharbi. Al Sharbi had insisted on representing himself and Kuebler refused superior orders to act as his lawyer.

Conor James Lamb is an American lawyer and politician who is the U.S. Representative from Pennsylvania's 17th congressional district since January 2019. The district serves most of the northwestern suburbs of Pittsburgh. A member of the Democratic Party, Lamb was first elected to Congress from the neighboring 18th district in March 2018, in a special election against Republican Rick Saccone that attracted national attention. After Pennsylvania's congressional map was redrawn by court order, Lamb filed to run for a full term in the 17th district in the 2018 general election, which he also won.

Lewis, a former United States Marine, JAG officer had previously served as the chief counsel to the House Armed Services Committee. He was also a law professor at Georgetown University.

Murphy is currently a Senior Managing Director at Ankura Consulting in Philadelphia and the Distinguished Chair of Innovation at the United States Military Academy.

LTG Charles Nicholas Pede is a military lawyer who currently serves as the 40th Judge Advocate General of the United States Army. General Pede was promoted from the rank of Brigadier General to the rank of Lieutenant General, bypassing the rank of Major General on July 26, 2017.

Herbert Claiborne Pell IV is an American lawyer, military officer, and politician. He is a lieutenant commander and judge advocate in the United States Coast Guard Reserve, and served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for International and Foreign Language Education in the United States Department of Education. He is the grandson of the late Senator Claiborne Pell. Pell ran an unsuccessful campaign for the 2014 Democratic Party nomination for Governor of Rhode Island, which he lost to Rhode Island State Treasurer Gina Raimondo.

Charles D. Swift is an American attorney and former career Navy officer, who retired in 2007 as a Lieutenant Commander in the Judge Advocate General's Corps. He is most noted for having served as defense counsel for Salim Ahmed Hamdan, a detainee from Yemen who was the first to be charged at Guantanamo Bay; Swift took his case to the US Supreme Court. In 2005 and June 2006, the National Law Journal recognized Swift as one of the top lawyers nationally because of his work on behalf of justice for the detainees.

Gordon Owen Tanner is an American lawyer who served as the General Counsel of the Air Force, the chief legal officer of the U.S. Department of the Air Force, from 2014 to 2017. Tanner also served as the Governor of Wake Island during the same period.
