
The 2e Escadre de Chasse is a fighter formation of the Fighter Brigade of the French Air and Space Force.

The 4th Rapid Reaction Brigade is a Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine established on 2 June 2015. Its training took place in a conformity with NATO standards. According to Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov the creation of the brigade should become the first step towards converting the National Guard into a professional army.

The 8e Escadre de Chasse 8e EC or 8th Fighter Wing is a fighter formation of the Fighter Brigade of the French Air and Space Force, which was reformed on August 25, 2015 at Cazaux Air Base.

The 10th Mountain Assault Brigade is a mountain warfare brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. It is part of Operational Command West and is based in Kolomyia. Formed in late 2015, the brigade fought in the War in Donbass between May and November 2016, defending positions around Marinka. It again deployed to the Donbass in September 2017, defending positions around Popasna.

The 30e Escadre de Chasse or 30th Hunter Escadre is a wing of the Fighter Brigade of the French Air and Space Force. It consists of several flying squadrons and support units.

The 40th Artillery Brigade is an artillery formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, based in Pervomaisk. The unit was activated on 25 May 2015.

The 56th Motorized Brigade is a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. The brigade was activated on 23 February 2015 in the city of Dnipro in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and took command of three volunteer territorial defence battalions. The brigade fought in the War in Donbass and has functioned as a motorized brigade. In June of 2019, it was announced the 56th Motorized Brigade will be transferred to the Ukrainian Naval Infantry and remain based in Mariupol as part of the effort to increase the size of Ukrainian Marine Corps to 4 brigades.

The 58th Independent Motorized Infantry Brigade is a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. The brigade was activated on 17 February 2015 in the city of Sumy in Sumy Oblast and took command of three volunteer territorial defence battalions. The brigade fought nine months in Eastern Ukraine until it was garrisoned back in Konotop April 1st, 2018.

The 61st Jager Infantry Brigade is one of the youngest formations of the Mechanized Infantry of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, raised in 2015 as the 61st Motorized Infantry Brigade of the UGF's 4th Army Reserve Corps. Based in Zhytomyr Oblast, it is one of the Ground Forces' specialized formations, which help the Armed Forces of Ukraine defend the forest lands of the north as well as in the swampy terrain of the Pinsk Marshes, which are in the AOR of the brigade.

The 185th Special Operations Squadron is a unit of the Oklahoma Air National Guard's 137th Special Operations Wing, located at Will Rogers World Airport, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The 185th is the only National Guard unit to be equipped with the MC-12W. The unit is known as the "Sooners." Famous unit alumni include former Vietnam prisoner of war Brig. Gen. James Robinson "Robbie" Risner and Astronaut Captain Fred Wallace Haise Jr., Apollo 13 Lunar Module Pilot.

No. 401 Tactical Fighter Squadron, a.k.a. "City of Westmount" Squadron, is a Royal Canadian Air Force squadron based at CFB Cold Lake. During World War II it was a fighter squadron and is notable for having fought in the Battle of Britain. Postwar, the squadron operated in Canada as an auxiliary squadron, reserve squadron and a helicopter and training squadron. In 2015 it was reactivated as a Tactical Fighter Squadron.

The Ahrar al-Najran movement is an alleged secessionist group in southern Saudi Arabia that arose in response to the Saudi-led intervention in the Yemeni civil war that started in 2015. Information on the alleged group has come almost exclusively from Iranian and allied Syrian media, with no independent corroboration on them. Since the summer of 2015 there have been no further reports on the alleged group.

Ansar al-Sunna, al-Shabaab, Ahlu al-Sunna, and Swahili Sunna, is an Islamist militant group active in Cabo Delgado Province, Mozambique. The group has attacked security forces and civilians in an attempt to establish an Islamic state in the area. Ansar al-Sunna is similar to the name of an Iraqi Sunni insurgent group that fought against US troops between 2003 and 2007. Locals call them "al-Shabaab" but they are a separate organization from Somali Al-Shabaab.

The Baqir Brigade, named after Shia Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, is a Syrian loyalist militia originating in the Aleppo Governorate that fights in the Syrian Civil War. One of the most prominent and largest pro-government militias from the Aleppo area and part of the "Local Defence Forces" network, the Baqir Brigade mostly consists of tribesmen from the al-Baggara tribe that traditionally supported the rule of the al-Assad family despite being mostly Sunni Muslim. Though the militia's fighters thus come from a largely Sunni background, many of them have converted to or are at least strongly influenced by Shia Islam. Indeed, the Baqir Brigade has been noted for its strong connections to the Lebanese Hezbollah, Iran, and various Iraqi Shia militias, and is thus generally considered to be a Shia or "Shi'ified" fighting force.

The Bethnahrain Women's Protection Forces is an all-female Assyrian military and police organization based in al-Qahtaniyah, al-Hasakah Governorate, Syria.

The Descendants of Saladin Brigade was a Free Syrian Army group active in the northern Aleppo Governorate. The group was supported by Turkey and was initially funded and armed by the United States, mainly fighting the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant but also opposing the Syrian government and the Democratic Union Party's (PYD) affiliates such as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The brigade was largely disbanded by the Turkish Army in 2017, following disagreements over the participation in a planned Turkish-led offensive against Afrin Canton, although a small faction within the group remained active and participated in the offensive since January 2018.

The Êzîdxan Women's Units is a Yazidi all-women militia formed in Iraq in 2015 to protect the Yazidi community in the wake of attacks by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and other Islamist groups that view Yazidis as pagan infidels.

The Hawar Kilis Operations Room is a rebel coalition formed in the village of Hawar Kilis in April 2016 in the northern Aleppo Governorate on the Syria–Turkey border.

The International Freedom Battalion, commonly abbreviated as IFB or EÖT, is an armed group consisting of leftist foreign fighters fighting for the People's Protection Units in the Syrian Civil War in support of the Rojava Revolution and against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, the Turkish Armed Forces, and the Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army. The formation of the IFB was announced in June 2015 in Serê Kaniyê. Inspiration for the group came from the International Brigades of the Spanish Civil War. The political ideologies of the fighters include Anarchism, Marxism–Leninism, Hoxhaism, Maoism, and anarcho-communism.

The Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (IS-GS) is a terrorist militant group with a Salafi Jihadism ideology. ISIS-GS was formed on 15 May 2015 as the result of a split within the militant group Al-Mourabitoun. The rift was a reaction to the adherence of one of its leaders, Adnane Abou Walid al-Sahraoui, to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

Jaysh al-Jihad was an Islamic State group based in Quneitra Governorate. The group formed from the merger of 7 small independent groups and factions that defected from Nusra Front after it clashed with the Yarmouk Martyrs Brigade in December 2014. These groups were: Jihad Brigades, Jamaat Jund al-Islam, Jamaat Abu Baseer, Mujahideen of al-Sham movement, Jamaat Shabab Ahl al-Sunnah, Nurayn Brigade, and Jamaat Bunyan al-Marsous.

The Army of Victory is an armed opposition faction participating in the Syrian Civil War. Founded in August 2015 as a joint operations room of 16 member groups, three of the groups later fully merged into Jaysh al-Nasr. The group was supplied with US-made BGM-71 TOW anti-tank missiles.

Jaysh al-Salam was an operations room of Free Syrian Army factions that operated in northern and eastern Syria with the goal of attacking the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in Raqqa.

The "Kharkiv" Police Battalion was formed in autumn 2015 from the special police unit battalion's "Kharkiv-1", "Kharkiv-2" and "Slobozhanshchyna". They have been involved in maintaining public order and guarding strategically important facilities in Mariupol.

The Guardians of Syria Forces - Lions of Hussein, formerly known as Lions of Hussein Brigade and often shortened to Lions of Hussein, are an Alawite militia which fights for the Ba'athist government during the Syrian Civil War. The unit originates as Shabiha, a criminal organization that has operated in Latakia Governorate since the 1980s, and only adopted its current name and appearance in 2015. Since then, the Lions of Hussein reportedly continued their "criminal activities on the side".

The Puspom TNI or Joint Military Police Command of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) is one of the central executive agencies within the TNI which has the role of administering administrative assistance to the army, navy, and air force as embodiment and guidance through the operation of Military Police functions. The Movement of Salah al-Din the Kurd is a Sunni Salafi jihadist militant rebel group of Kurdish fighters that takes part in the Syrian Civil War. Formed in 2015 by mostly Kurdish mujahideen from Syria, Turkey, Iran, and Iraq, the group mostly operates in northwestern Syria.

The Mu'tasim Division, formerly the Mutasim Brigade, is a Free Syrian Army faction active in the northern Aleppo Governorate, based in the town of Mare'. The group was named after al-Mu'tasim, an Abbasid Mutazilite caliph.

The National Space Defense Center (NSDC) is a subordinate center of United States Space Command's Joint Task Force–Space Defense. It is responsible for coordinating military, intelligence, civil, and commercial space for unified space defense operations. The NSDC is located at Schriever Air Force Base, outside of Colorado Springs.

The Nineveh Plain Forces or NPF is a military organization that was formed on 6 January 2015 by indigenous Assyrian Christians in Iraq, in cooperation with Peshmerga, to defend against Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. The Nineveh plains are a region at the heart of the Assyrian homeland. The militia is affiliated with the Bet-Nahrain Democratic Party and the Beth Nahrain Patriotic Union (HBA), the latter being part of the secular Dawronoye movement. It participated in the Battle of Mosul (2016–17).

Noman Çelebicihan Battalion is a Crimean Tatar volunteer battalion named after Noman Çelebicihan, the base of the battalion will be in Kherson region bordering Crimea. The Crimean Tatar battalion reportedly has received assistance from Turkey. The battalion is set to help the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in the region bordering Crimea. The battalion emerged from participants in the 2015 activist-led blockade of Crimea that stopped Ukrainian cargo from reaching the Crimean peninsula. The battalion is planned to include 560 people.

Operational Command East is a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces in eastern Ukraine. Its headquarters is currently located in Dnipro.

The 89th "Oz" Brigade is a brigade of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), dedicated entirely to special operations. It was established on December 27, 2015. The new brigade, dubbed the Commando Brigade, is composed solely of infantry special-operations units removed from their previous chain of command structures to create a new tactical formation. Commanded by Aluf Mishne (Colonel) Avi Blut, the brigade operates as part of the 98th Division.

The Sham Liberation Army, originally called the Sham Liberation Brigade, is an armed rebel group active in the Syrian Civil War. It was founded and is led by Firas Bitar, a captain who defected from the Syrian Arab Army in 2012. Until 2016, its sole opponent was the Syrian Armed Forces and its allied militias; it rejected any fighting with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant until ISIL attacked its fighters in February 2016.

The Ezidkhan Command for Liberating Sinjar, known as the Sinjar Alliance, is a joint command of two Yazidi militias, the Sinjar Resistance Units (YBŞ), and the Êzîdxan Women's Units (YJÊ). Both militias are supported by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). The alliance was originally created in October 2015, after the August 2014 Sinjar massacre. The Alliance aims to establish democratic confederalism in a Yazidi autonomous region in Iraqi Kurdistan.

The Syrian Democratic Forces is an alliance in the Syrian Civil War composed primarily of Kurdish, Arab, and Assyrian/Syriac militias, as well as some smaller Armenian, Turkmen and Chechen forces. The SDF is militarily led by the People's Protection Units (YPG), a mostly Kurdish militia. Founded in October 2015, the SDF states its mission as fighting to create a secular, democratic and federalised Syria. The updated December 2016 constitution of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (NES) names the SDF as its official defence force.
