
Asanbek Tunguchpaevich Alymkozhoev is the former Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic. He was also the commander of the National Guard of Kyrgyzstan from 2006 to 2009. and from 2013 to 2014.

The Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic is the professional head of the Kyrgyz Army. He is responsible for the administration and the operational control of the Kyrgyz Army. The current Commander is Colonel Nurlan Kiresheyev.

Rayimberdi Seydakmatovich Duishenbiev is a Kyrgyzstani General who served as the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic from 11 May 2016 to 9 October 2020. He is also the former commander of the Kyrgyzstan Frontier Force.

Colonel Janybek Akmatovich Kaparov is a Kyrgyzstani officer and a former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan (2015–2016).

Felix Sharshenbayevich Kulov is a Kyrgyz politician who was Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan from 2005 to 2007, following the Tulip Revolution. He first served from 1 September 2005 until he resigned on 19 December 2006. President Kurmanbek Bakiyev reappointed him acting Prime Minister the same day, but parliamentary opposition meant Bakiyev's attempts to renominate Kulov in January 2007 were unsuccessful and on 29 January the assembly's members approved a replacement. Kulov cofounded and leads Ar-Namys, a political party, and chairs the People's Congress, an electoral alliance to which Ar-Namys belongs.

Taalaibek Baryktabasovich Omuraliev is a Kyrgyzstani General and the former Minister of Defense of Kyrgyzstan. He currently serves as the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Boris Alexandrovich Yugai was a Kyrgyzstani Major General and military leader who served as the Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff from March 2007 to June 2008 under President Kurmanbek Bakiyev. Yugai is Korean by ethnicity and is fluent in the Korean language outside of Russian and Kyrgyz. He died in Bishkek in March 2010 as a result of a heart attack. Yugai is generally regarded as an important figure in the military, often enjoying strong support among military personnel.
